How do you measure the effectiveness of an influencer marketing campaign?

Quick answer

Measure influencer campaign effectiveness against the goal you set, not vanity metrics. Track reach and engagement for awareness, clicks and tracked conversions for sales, using unique links and codes per creator.

We just wrapped our first campaign and leadership wants to know if it worked. How do you measure the effectiveness of an influencer marketing campaign without just pointing at a like count?

Set the success metric before launch, not after. If you decide what good looks like once the numbers are in, you will always find a way to call it a win.

Unique discount codes per creator are the cheapest attribution you will ever set up. They tell you which creator actually drove sales rather than who posted the prettiest photo.

Effectiveness only means something against a goal, so decide what the campaign was for before you measure it. An awareness push and a sales push are judged on completely different numbers and grading one by the other is how teams end up with a pile of likes and no idea whether it worked.

For awareness, look at reach, impressions and engagement rate. For consideration, watch saves, shares, profile visits and link clicks. For sales, the only honest measure is tracked conversions, so give every creator a unique link or discount code and tie the revenue back to them. Cost per result then tells you which creators earned their fee.

Pulling that together across a roster is where it gets messy. Flinque keeps each creator profile, their audience and their engagement in one place, so when you decide who to rebook you are reading like for like rather than stitching screenshots together.

Do not judge a sales campaign on likes or an awareness campaign on revenue. Match the metric to the goal or the report is just noise.
