Why the Chain and Lock on Some Chanel Flaps Don’t Match in Color

It’s not uncommon for Chanel owners to notice that the gold tone on the chain doesn’t exactly match the tone on the CC lock. While this might raise concerns at first glance, for certain seasons, this detail is not only normal—it’s actually a marker of authenticity.

For example, one clear indicator of a transitional era is the engraving on the backplate of the lock. During these periods, Chanel introduced new locks with engraving styles that had never appeared in earlier collections—while often continuing to use older chain stock. These subtle inconsistencies were a direct result of internal changes, such as shifts in hardware production and supply methods. As a result, bags from certain seasons may display slight mismatches in hardware tone and finish.

The chain and lock, for example, are not always produced in the same factory or even within the same timeframe. Hardware components may be plated, finished, or assembled in different batches—sometimes weeks or months apart. In some cases, one component, like the chain, may come from a previous season’s batch.

These variations are especially common during high-production cycles or transitional periods. Rather than indicating inauthenticity, they reflect the complexity of Chanel’s evolving manufacturing process and therefore the authentication process.
All of these so-called VIP gift bags were never made by Chanel—factories just took it upon themselves to invent their own versions. Only one of them is real and was actually produced by Chanel. Can you spot which one it is?
I want you to see just how advanced master clones have become. The burgundy zipper is the counterfeit—while the beige one is authentic. Please don’t get frustrated when I ask for extreme close-ups; it often comes down to the tiniest details.
The point of my previous post is to show that even when two bags share the exact same style, color, leather, hardware, size, country of production, and season—they can still look entirely different in their details and remain 100% authentic.
Both Minis are authentic.
The quilting, stitching, tone of the hardware (even though both are aged gold), and overall structure all varied between these two, despite being from the same season.

Each bag ages uniquely—shaped by the health of the original hide, the specific hardware batch, how it’s stored, handled, worn, and even the micro-environment it lives in.

In short: authenticity comes with character. It’s uniformity that should raise suspicion.
Which one is AUTHENTIC? The one with sticker on the lock or the one without?
These counterfeit bags are often passed off as “refurbished” or “repaired” when presented for authentication, with the hope that any flaws will be overlooked. In reality, they’re simply high-grade replicas with impressively accurate serial number details. While still not flawless, they’re very well made. The same version also exists with embedded microchips, and while I won’t release those details now, I will say this: they’ve replicated the chip data with up to 80% accuracy, and I verify through macro-level inspection. Pretty scary!

I never disclose the main reasons a bag is fake in my reports—I only point out the obvious errors.

In many cases, these scam sellers go a step further by attaching what appears to be internal Chanel system data—attempting to lend legitimacy to their counterfeit and, quite frankly, manipulate my judgment.

Let’s break this down.
What is Chanel internal data?

Internal system screenshots can be accessed by any Chanel Sales Associate (SA) with the right credentials—whether through personal connections or, at times, in exchange for payment. These screenshots typically include:
• A photo of the exact design
• The style code
• The leather type and hardware color
• The shade code and color

When an SA logs into the internal service catalog, they can input the serial number or microchip code. The system retrieves the full spec sheet as if the bag were being submitted for repair or evaluation.

For instance, the following three bags ( you can see them in my pictures) match the Chanel system records perfectly:
• A 21P Mini Rectangular in camel brown lambskin with light gold hardware
• A 19B Medium Classic Flap in burgundy caviar with light gold hardware
• An 18B Medium Classic Flap in grey caviar with light gold hardware

So here’s the bottom line:
Never rely solely on Chanel internal screenshots when making a purchase. Master clones are now built to align with these records down to the smallest detail.

These are just a few examples of the current generation of advanced fakes making their way through the market.

Stay sharp. Stay safe. And remember—if it looks too good to be true, it probably comes with a certificate too!

My pictures?

These pics were taken when I was in my 20s and I have no SHAME in seeing them!!

I go publicly with ZERO MAKEUP ON, and I made videos with no makeup many times!

But how can she get hold of my old pictures? That’s the scary part!

But to post them in the group of Chanel?

I knew it is the jealousy but I never thought Your hate is just way more than what i ever expected!

I exposed the truth of errors made on a bag that was authenticated as authentic by companies to raise awareness then this triggered you to post my old pictures and my new ones to revenge on Chanel group?! How low!!

Talk about my work not my face! And show the full picture next time.

PLEASE DO NOT DELETE ANY OF THEM! And I will make sure to address everything that you did behind closed doors to other people since you reached this level.

AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THESE PICTURES THEY ARE ME OLD AND NEW, EDITED OR NOT! BEAUTY OF THE FACE IS NOTHING!

BUT WHEN YOU HAVE AN UGLY HEART THAT IS A DISASTER!
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your patience while I am traveling and attending to family matters and caring for my mental health, while also trying to diligently fulfill your orders. I know that the time difference and change in my usual response times pose an inconvenience for you, but it is important that I engage in some self care, so that I can always offer my best to you.
If for some reason you are unable to accomodate my modified schedule while traveling, I understand, but please do not suggest that I close my business while traveling. Zekosauthentication is not only a business, it is a passion, and is in fact my fourth child. I have worked through many illnesses, physical and mental exhaustion, family emergencies and so much more, in the name of my love for my craft. If you are unable to use my services because of my modified schedule, I understand, and look forward to serving you in the future.
Having said that, responding quickly isn't always feasible or the best judgment, even if I could technically reply in mere seconds.
The following is a recent real life experiment, with a client's assistance, that I am using to illustrate why fast service does not necessarily mean best service.
Would any of you find it acceptable if I failed to mention that the interior of a bag was 50% replaced? The answer is a resounding "NO." This crucial detail needs to be highlighted, especially since it was a replacement that will substantially affect the value of your investment. I would not have caught this inconsistency if my inspection was not thorough.
This very bag was deemed authentic by all KNOWN authentication services— and I mean ALL of them, no exception. My client holds certificates from all of these companies, and none of them flagged this significant issue. Now, while the bag is indeed a genuine Chanel handbag, that detail MUST BE MENTIONED on the certificate or during authentication, to represent an accurate and complete authentication.
I hope this sheds some light on why thoroughness sometimes necessitates more time.
With love, Zeko.
What makes this so obviously fake that no service should overlook its falseness? Let’s see if my followers been learning♥️
