Event description: TRAUMA is thrilled to present Kolya Nemoi’s first large-scale installation for the stage. His concert environment will be activated by performances from Show Me The Body, Ho99o9 and ZEENA.
Opening act ZEENA, with a legendary career in dark ambient ritual music, acts as the ‘calm before the storm’ in this concert equation; blessing the room before the chaos that ensues inside Nemoi’s visual universe.
A signature TRAUMA concert format, this approach facilitates interdisciplinary dialogues and organically breeds new collaborative work.
All four artists are connected, not by genre, but by intensity. They operate with friction, distortion and threat, not as decoration, but as a way of registering the world. What emerges is not just a concert with a stronger visual identity, but a temporary world built jointly by all involved.

As one who has a unique history in magical practices and Tibetan Buddhism, she brings a rare depth of lived knowledge to her art. ZEENA's musical career spans an evolution from 1980s darkwave, industrial, and post-punk into the liminal realms of avant-garde sound art, dark ambient, and ritual music. Her compositions unfold with a liturgical, hypnotic pull—opening thresholds into otherworldly states of awareness. Through minimalist industrial textures, field recordings, and electronic manipulation, interwoven with chants and mantras, she conjures immersive sonic environments that feel at once meditative and uncanny, intimate and expansive.

Tomorrow is the ending of the 'Fifteen Days of Miracles,' in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar commemorating Buddha Shakyamuni's various miracles in Sravasti to subdue the arrogance of his opponents and inspire confidence in Buddha-Dharma methods of enlightenment.
When we think of miracles, we tend to think of fantastic, mythological events. But a real miracle would be simply learning how to recognize and transform our own disturbing emotions and discursive thoughts so they do not ripen into destructive consequences. What a miracle it would be if all sentient beings could learn and manage that!
Also coinciding tomorrow will be a total lunar eclipse visible in parts of North America, Central America, western South America, Australia, New Zealand, and eastern Asia, with the maximum eclipse happening at 11:33 Universal Time, during which the full moon gradually transforms into a blood-red color.
For Vajrayana practitioners, the 'Aspiration Prayer of Kuntuzangpo' is recommended to do for eclipses, and Buddha Amitabha mantras and pujas for the full moon.

Entering into the Lunar New Year, this will be a rare, high-energy year that happens only once every 60 years (the last time was 1966). Because both fire and horse energies share very similar dynamic qualities, the coming year is considered to be like a "double fire" year, fuelling rapid movement, bold transformation, intense passion, fast-paced change, leadership, and, because of the element of fire, emotional intensity and spiritual awakening and purification. Forewarned is forearmed, though! Conversely, in the coming year, be diligent to not fall victim to the destructive energy of the “double fire”: High tempers, restlessness, impulsivity, and emotions being difficult to harness or rein in.
May this lunar new year bring you lucidity, vitality, fortitude, success, gratitude, peace, and pure joy that's free from attachment, aversion, and ignorance!!
And of course, may the year to come bring you ever closer to liberation and enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings.

We are especially encouraged to engage in virtuous Dharma practices as much as possible, to refrain from non-virtuous actions as much as possible (because those effects are also multiplied 100 millionfold upon ourselves), and to be extra mindful of the actions of our body, speech, and mind during this time frame.

Below are suggestions for spiritual practices for the longest night of the year (tonight) and the new year:
𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: On the longest night of the year, it's very beneficial to practice Trataka (one-pointed candle gazing meditation). Sitting in a darkened room without artificial light, gaze into a candle flame at eye level or slightly lower, about an arm's length in front of you. This practice helps stabilize the mind, develop a strong, peaceful stillness, and enable us to recognize the inner light we all have within the vast expanse of mind, which is as vast as the sky.
𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐥: Writing down obstacles or attachments of the past year on a paper and then burning the paper as a means of helping to let go and burn away karma, enabling mental space for deep wisdom realizations and understanding.
𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Many Buddha-Dharma (or other spiritual practitioners) use the longest night and the space between the winter solstice and the new year for solitary home retreats, avoiding electronic devices and other external distractions, including encounters likely to generate high drama or disturbing emotions. The darkest season is very conducive to reconnecting with our innate wisdom and true nature, practicing gratitude and forgiveness, and for remembering our highest, noblest priorities.
As with all Buddha-Dharma practices, the above practices should be flanked with the usual opening and closing prayers, setting the right motivation of Bodhicitta, and closing with the dedication of merit for the liberation and enlightenment of all sentient beings.
