The sun is one of the things I dislike most when Iâm taking photos. During this wedding in Marrakech, the sun was so intense that I had no choice but to adapt and step out of my comfort zone. At first, I panicked, lacked confidence, and was really scared. But after a few panicked messages with, she helped me get back on track from a distance. That gave me the confidence to keep going. Imposter syndrome is tough, but Iâm so proud of myself and the final result. I canât wait to share everything Iâve worked on over the past few months, or even the last few years, because Iâve kind of been ghosting. đ€

She was 30 minutes late, while I was only 5 minutes behind. She came in, looking just like I did all those years ago. I ordered a coffee and a kess jus, while she stuck with just a coffee.
She was curious, as she always was. « How do you feel about yourself? » she asked.
I smiled and answered, « I finally love myself. I love who Iâve become, and Iâm so proud of everything Iâve achieved. »
She was quiet for a moment, thinking, before asking the question I knew was coming: « What did you become? Did you finish engineering school like we planned? »
I smiled, knowing exactly where this conversation was headed. « No, I didnât. I decided to follow my heart and pursue my dream. Iâm a professional photographer now, and I get to meet amazing people, capturing beautiful moments and events. Itâs a dream come true. »
She grinned, a bit surprised but so happy to hear it. Then, she asked, almost wistfully, « Did we ever get to travel? You always wanted to see the world. »
I chuckled, nodding. « Weâve been to over 20 countries. Weâve seen so many places, experienced so much. Itâs been incredible. »
Then, with that familiar hesitation, she asked, « What about your friends? Right now, it feels so hard to have any friends. »
I could see the worry in her eyes. I know exactly what you mean. « Today, I have amazing friends who support me, in ways I never thought possible. Theyâve become family. The kind of people who show up for me, no matter what. Itâs not about having a crowd around you itâs about having those true lifelong connections. »
She seemed relieved but curious still. « Have you healed from everything? The trauma, the bullying from school? »
I took a deep breath. « Yes, it made me stronger. It pushed me to become better, to not let those experiences define me. I use that pain as fuel to improve and to help others when I can. »
