ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2019, with no proper training, Dr. Mariam has finished her 1st ever Marathon with a DNF (Did Not Finish)
Taking that challenge head-on was courageous, and ambitious. Yet, the feeling of reaching the finish line to not find anyone to cheer you on, no medals, and no pat on the back is painful.
When told me about this, I wanted to cheer her up. I didn't, and never will, like the sound of it (DNF).
So, I've decided to give her my own finisher medal with a note: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗡𝗙 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹 (𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹)
The was enough to keep her pushing through until this very moment to finish 5 full marathons.
A working mother, and an inspiring grandmother (50+) has no excuse to do all of this.
