Join us July 10–11 as Miwa leads a tribute to legendary jazz pianist Ahmad Jamal during his Birthday Month. A three-time DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star and Berklee College of Music professor, Miwa's 2021 release Songs of Joy reached #1 on national jazz radio charts.
Ahmad Jamal was one of the most influential jazz pianists of the 20th century - a minimalist master whose use of space and dynamics shaped generations of musicians, including Miles Davis. His landmark 1958 album At the Pershing: But Not for Me remains one of the most celebrated live jazz recordings ever made.
