本日から7/7 20:00まで、新作の「幾星霜」をはじめとして、夏の蝋燭をお届けいたします。
灯す時間も、飾る時間も、日々の景色の一部となるような蝋燭をご用意しました。
新作の「幾星霜」は、積み重なった時間の痕跡をかたちにした蝋燭です。
長い年月を重ねた地層のように、わたしたちが人生で積み重ねる時間や記憶のように、
灯るほどに表情を変えながら、その時間ごと暮らしに馴染んでいきます。
すべて一点ずつ手仕事で制作しているため、今回もご用意できる数には限りがあります。
会期中であっても、予定数に達した時点で受付を終了させていただきます。
お届けは、ご注文から最大で2週間程度を予定しております。
この夏の暮らしの中で、朝の光にも、夕暮れにも、静かな夜にも。

信州の『小さな蜜蝋蝋燭』。
1本ずつ手仕事で整えた小さな蜜蝋蝋燭を10本、小箱に入れてお届けします。
蜜蝋は、100%信州で採蜜している養蜂家さんのもの。
芯を工夫しているので、5枚目の写真のように、最後まで蝋が垂れずに燃焼しきります。（エアコンなどの風が当たると蝋は垂れることもあります）
お誕生日のケーキに挿しても、蝋垂れる心配がないので、ゆっくりと写真を撮ったり楽しんでいただけます。
人の手の温もりで少し柔らかくなりますので、くねくね曲げてみたり、形を変えて楽しんでいただくこともできます。
貴重な蜜蝋を、全て無駄なく、使い切るために。
最後には芯まできれいに燃え尽きます。
灯す時は、小皿などに2、3滴蝋を垂らして、しっかり固定してからお使いください。
1本約20分。

藍、バタフライピー、稲藁灰、紫大根、ヨモギ…
植物を煮て色を取り出し、固形化して顔料を作ります。
九州の木蝋（白蝋）にその色を混ぜて、手掛けの技法で設えた和蝋燭。植物から取り出した色は柔い和の色を宿して、和蝋燭を彩ります。
暖かいところからやってきた木蝋に、信州の色彩を施して夜々の和蝋燭が出来上がります。
柔く、穏やかな、植物の色彩。
植物の蝋に、和紙、真綿、い草の髄。
日本の国土にあって、土に還る素材たち。
作り手の方達が大切に繋いできた和蝋燭作りの技を、少しずつ原料から学ばせていただきながら、大切に作っていきたいと思います。
Plant-Dyed Japanese Candles
Indigo, butterfly pea, rice straw ash, purple radish, mugwort…
Each color begins with a plant. The plants are slowly simmered, their pigments drawn out, then transformed into solid colorants.
These pigments are blended into mokurō (Japanese tree wax) from Kyushu and shaped by hand using traditional Japanese candle-making techniques.
The colors born from plants carry the softness of the seasons—muted, gentle hues that settle naturally upon the surface of the candles.
As the warmth of softened wax receives the colors of Shinshu, Yoru Yoru’s Japanese candles take form.
With gratitude for the generations of artisans who have carried these traditions forward, I continue to learn from the materials themselves, honoring the craft while creating each candle with care.

私はいろんな種類の素材（wax）を使って蝋燭を作りますし、それぞれのwaxにそれぞれの良さや面白さや深みがあると思って使っています。
その一方で、私自身が家で灯す蝋燭はだんだんとシンプルなものになってきました。蜜蝋蝋燭であったり、日本茶の和蝋燭であったり、ごくシンプルな設えの色の主張の少ない蝋燭であったり……。
「暮らしに在って心地いい」とどうなるのか？ということ。暮らしとは日々の生活です。気負わず気取らず、朝起きて一杯の白湯を飲むように当たり前の動作として日々の中にあるもの。使い切ってもまた手に取りたくなるようなものが、暮らしの中で心地いいなのではないだろうか……そんなことを四六時中、自分と対話し続けています。
信州で暮らすようになって、私自身の生活の中には、そういうものが徐々に増えてきました。手にする時に価格や手に入れやすさ、とりあえず、などが選考基準ではない「モノ」たち。作り手の顔が見えるもの。道具であれば長く愛して使い続けられるもの。消耗品であっても、使い切った後にまたそれを使いたいと思えるもの。そういう価値観で選んだものが私の暮らしには少しずつ増えてきました。それに従って、蝋燭についても同じようなことを考えるようになったのです。
蝋燭は「灯りをとる」という本来の役割は、とっくの昔に電気やガスに譲っています。もはや生活必需品ではなく、それでいて、灯して使うと無くなっていくもの。
暮らしに絶対に必要ではないのに、「消えモノ」なのです。おそらく、日々の暮らしの中で一番最後の方に必要とされるものではないでしょうか。
そんな蝋燭が「暮らしに在ったらいいな」と思ってもらえる在り方ってどんななんだろう。最近ずっと考えています。また使いたいと思ってもらえる蝋燭。
蝋燭講師としての私は、デザイン的に凝ったものや、技術的に作るのが難しいもの、新しい技法などで蝋燭を作ることも楽しいですし、それを灯したり伝えたりすることも喜びです。
それとは別の側面、「生活人」としての私にとって（あなたにとって、誰かにとって）暮らしに在ると心地よい蝋燭、はどんな姿なのか？
ずっと考えています。
蝋燭そのものは火を灯せば存在としては消えていくのですが、夜々の蝋燭は、蝋燭が蝋燭としての生き方をしている時（灯されている時）、安らぎだったり、落ち着きだったり、癒しや、寄り添い、もしくは弔いや祝いの時間、何かを想う感情、そういった形のないものをお届けしていると思っています。
蝋燭は物質であるけれど、固体から液体になり、気体に変化している蝋とともに過ごすひと時の時間と感情、それ自体が「蝋燭の意味」だと、ずっとお伝えしています。今後もさらに、私の暮らしの変化とともに、「心地よい」について考えていきたいと思います。
