take a boat to San Miguel and hike (20mins max) up to the stunning viewpoint that overlooks Flores😍 it’s called Mirador Rey Canek. If you walk 10 minutes further you can also reach the beach called Playa Chechenal with clear blue water👀
Jorge rope swing is a popular hangout spot across the river, jump on a boat and within 10 minutes you are there, it’s a good place to swim in the lake and enjoy a beer or two🍻

My fave time in Guatemala! Many people skip this place because it’s a 8-10 hour bus journey but I thought it was so worth it!
We stayed 10 minutes walk from Semuc Champey and was the first people to arrive, it was super special having the whole place to our selves🥰
What to do here?
Day one:
Cave Tour - an adventure experience hike/swim the caves with just a candle 🕯️
Tubing - chill on the river and let the current take you for a ride
Cliff jumping/ Swing rope - challenge yourself and jump from the highest point
Day two:
Arrive at Semuc Champey at 8am!
Climb the mirador - a 30 minute hike up to a viewpoint (the heat made it quite uncomfortable so take your time)
Once you’ve climbed down the mirador you will find yourselves at the pools! So nice to take a dip after a hike and enjoy the crystal clear water 💦
You can do everything in one day but I recommend spreading it over at least two!
