Keeping this short since we're forehead deep in making, packaging & shipping chocolate before the holidays, but wanted to share the good news with our friends.
Barrel-Aged Dark is a 70% dark chocolate bar we made as a spin off project from chocolate & whiskey pairings for which we partnered with our friends. The bar was only ever meant to be a limited edition, but we couldn't stop making it and eating. To make the chocolate, we soak our organic Ugandan cacao beans in ASW's multiple-award winning double malt whiskey "Duality", then dry and age the nibs in oak. The bar is not designed to taste like whiskey-flavored chocolate--it's a celebration of when two excellent ingredients (their whiskey, the chocolate we make from expertly produced cacao beans from Ugandan farmers) come together to make a delicious new flavor. Locally made dark chocolate & small-batch whiskey--a pretty great pair.
