Please dont look at these photos and think we've had a blissful, perfect year. We did have some good times. We travelled to Morocco, Spain and Belgium. We spent time with our loved ones, and celebrated our friends' wedding. We bagged munros, explored more of Scotland and finally ticked off our goal of walking the West Highland Way. (Did I mention that?)
But we also lost Gordon's dad in January, and are still dealing with the aftermath. I'm choosing to focus on the happier moments though, because how else do you get through life?!
So yes, this is a highlight reel. Trust me, nobody wants to see the shit show behind the scenes 😂
We have lots of hopes and dreams for 2026, but need to focus on the farm first. If you happen to know anyone in the market for a rural property with lots of potential, send them our way! 🙏🏻🏡

With just 260m elevation, it's a reasonably easy walk despite the heat and only took us a couple of hours. We've experienced all the weather since we got here - sun, snow, rain, you name it! 😅
There is parking at the trailhead, but walking from town just added about 15 minutes each way.
Incredible views of the town & surrounding mountains, plus we saw a chipmunk at the top!
The wee hill in the second last photo is Tunnel Mountain (it's indigenous name translates to sleeping buffalo! 🐃).

🏕 2 nights in a tent, 1 night in a youth hostel
🎒 2.5kg of food carried (each!)
🦅 1 golden Eagle, an Osprey, a snake & only 1 morning of midges!
🥾 1 pair of boots probably past their best. At least I'm assuming that's why I've started getting blisters!
💦 And 1 epic fall in a river later, we made it!
Our first long distance, multi day hike may have had it's ups and downs, but I don't think it'll be our last. Where to next?!
