yes, I read these books. I collect them as a token of a good thrift haul, but I take my time to scan through and see if they’re more picture or text based, and go from there.
Styling accessories is something that I think i’m still getting the hang of. I like mixing metals and natural elements, as well as glass and stone. To me, it’s all about the natural whimsy. Where can you add texture, color, and pattern in a way that seems organic and fun, and how can that become functional? It’s a process, especially when you source things, but I am always up for a challenge!
I want to share more of my thrifted finds and how I incorporate them into my life as a way to expand how you see things when you thrift or when you consider thrifting on my page.
I LOVE thrifting coffee table books. Their functionality is more versatile than people think and I love how much character the scale and color can bring to a room. I purchase art, theatre and architecture books specifically, and I absolutely love using them to play with scale in my space. All the books you see here have been thrifted and collected over the past few years and believe it or not, I have more!
The painting is something that I found at Habitat for Humanity and I INSTANTLY loved it. The colors were so warm and I love the Rothko inspired design instantly gave me that MCM look I love. Pairing it with the x light seemed to make the most sense; and the amber glow plays off the oranges and reds of the painting.
The dresser is a fan favorite; originally purchased from, who has sold me a few of my favorite pieces in my apartment. I love the angular, MCM design to really make the dresser not feel flat. I was quite excited to land this piece.
Design is creative to me. I like doing my own thing and figuring out how I can live in a space using materials that already exist. I can’t wait to share more with you all ❤️
