During this workshop, we spoke about the banner we collaboratively quilted for our Dyke March 2024, and introduced participants to the basics of this craft.
✦ Through some prompting questions, we created a space for a discussion on people’s relationships to mending, sewing and textiles in their lives and in their political practice.
✦ The group retraced their reflections onto the fabric they were using to practice quilting. These patches were later sewn together by our member, who also brought together our 2024 Dyke March quilted banner 🧵🩷 💫
In the pictures, you can see the quilt we made together at the workshop and read the thoughts that emerged throughout it.
