After her incredible trip to Japan earlier this year, we knew the Japanese gardens would be the perfect backdrop for her photos. Surrounded by stunning scenery, Lilly was truly a vision. I hope her night was as magical as she looked!

When we confirmed that Zailee would be attending the awards night she insisted that she make her own dress. She has never made a dress before but with the guidance of her wonderful sewing teacher and friend Collette Watson, she was able to spend hours learning and creating and the finished product was truely beautiful and meaningful.
Zailee was adamant that the fabric be rose themed because it is currently 65 Roses Month. The national month of awareness for cystic fibrosis and the whole reason for her being nominated. Even though this award was a moment for her to shine, she still wanted to continue to shine the light and raise awarness for CF in style, and that she did.
This kid is something else, I am so incredibly proud of her, her diverse range of interests and talents are inspiring.
We ran out of time for photos before the event, so these were taken at around midnight in a Woolies carpark, because I couldn’t not. ❤️

Last night as I said goodnight to her for the last time as a “child” the tears started flowing, they came out of no where and they could not be stopped. I was overcome with emotion and at the time I had no idea why.
It wasn’t until I woke this morning and went about my day that I had time to reflect and realise why.
She wasn’t moving out of home, and really nothing was suddenly changing in our day to day life for this kind of reaction to take over me but the significance of realising that I have raised this tiny, premature 3 pound baby to now be an adult (who towers over me) suddenly dawned on me.
I was younger than Adella is now when I gave birth to her. A scary thought when I now look at her and notice just how young she still is and reflect on just how young I must of been and how quickly I was forced to grow up, to be the mother she needed me to be.
I’m far from perfect as a mother, If I could go back in time and change things, there are many I would. It feels like the last 24hrs I’ve been questioning the past 18 years of parenting, every little moment of our life together has been flashing before my eyes for my brain to analyse. Did I do enough?
don’t think I will ever feel like I did enough, how could I of when I was still a baby myself.
But then I realised. the tears I’ve been crying are both tears of pride and tears of relief. That despite all the things I wish I had of done or the things I shouldn’t have done or the things I could’ve done just a little better. The unconditional love we share means we forgive each other when we fall short, and that is why we made it.
We navigated this journey of mother and daughter together.

It was an absolute honour to be invited to document this very small and intimate wedding ceremony on the weekend. The pure joy and happiness from both the bride and groom was contagious for all 30 of the guests and the ceremony was the perfect balance of fun, celebration and LOVE.
Those who have been around for a while might remember Adella in the elaborate and oversized tutu and Zailee with her flower crown but here we are now with my not so little guy Nate, aged 10 who of course chose a Basketball theme!
He has been 10 for a few weeks now but life’s been busy and I’ve only just had a chance to load his photos and work on them and they are bringing all the feels. Honestly you blink and you miss it.
May this be a reminder that yes it is important to capture the newborn photos but it’s just as important to document your children as they grow. The cheeky little grin, the moody side eye, the freckles on their nose.
So happy to finally complete my set, all three children captured on their 10th Birthdays.

This reel is for Jes. The one behind the camera, staying up late to upload (we’ve learned her computer is a dinosaur!) and edit all of her beautiful photos. We quickly realised that this was very much a photography challenge!
Driving to so many places from Collinsvale, juggling parenting 3 kids and 3 jobs, and donating hundreds of hours of her time (and fuel costs and other expenses) for this challenge. For us. For Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania.

We are exhausted already… late nights on the computer, photoshoots before and after school, (one even at 10pm on Friday night), seeking donations and organising events, on top of juggling three jobs and three children, plus other volunteer duties… it’s alot, but our exhaustion does not compare to those families who are impacted by CF not even in the slightest. CF is a life-limiting condition and there is NO CURE. CFT receives no government funding so our efforts are well and truely worth it to help lessen the load on those with CF in Tasmania.
