Throwback to this time last year, when I led a series of wood jewellery workshops on the beautiful island of Saba with. What an incredible trip this was! A total delight to work alongside people with great enthusiasm for natural materials, sustainability, and conscious art-making practices.

It is my great pleasure to introduce Amber from!

Apart from a talented artist with a distinctive approach to her craft, she is also an educator, and jewellery maker with a deep curiosity and love for the natural world. Wood, bark, and found materials arenโ€™t simply her medium โ€” they are her entry point, her collaborators, and the heart of every piece she creates.

This philosophy extends into her workshops, where she incorporates carefully selected natural materials, handpicked from her surroundings, fostering a thoughtful connection between craftsmanship and nature.

She specialises in creating bespoke pieces that preserve personal memories, transforming them into meaningful, wearable keepsakes.
What fascinates me in her work, is how each piece feels like both a glimpse into an intimate micro world and a scene of a much bigger macrocosm: personal landscapes reflecting her travels and imagination!

Allow me to introduce you to my friend and collaborator, Kalliope of โœจ

We met a few years ago through markets. The first time I saw her work I was struck by the colour, exquisite craftsmanship, and playfulness that went into her jewellery and heirloom dolls. We struck up a quick, easy connection, and met regularly for coffee and walks around Maastricht. Here we often spoke about co-leading a jewellery workshop - somewhere we could explore unique design processes, share inspirations, and encourage others in crafting unique art objects with intention.

Originally from Greece, Kalliope is a trained jewellery designer and maker with roots in archaeology and archaeological illustration. Her pieces are an amalgamation of materials, techniques and stories. From the photos of her work here you can see the thoughtfulness that goes into each piece.

Her imaginative design and delicate care shines through everything she makes. I'm very grateful to work together as we prepare for our upcoming workshop series, "Curious Things." To find out more or to register, visit the link in my profile.

Fun fact: K is also an amazing gift-giver, which is perfect, as I am a passionate gift-receiver ๐Ÿ˜‡ Souvenirs from travels, games for the kids, or delicious treats - as well also art books, tools, and small stones or wood bits that she knew I'd love. We're a good match! ๐Ÿ˜‰

It's crazy how an idea can bounce around for so long before actually getting the time it needs to grow.

Pictured here is a collage of bits from this year, last year, and from ages ago: the round piece in the center is the first piece I made when I started Wild Blue in 2016. I always keep it nearby. Life has a very funny way of moving in circles sometimes.

I'm sharing this tease of a post because my brilliant friend and I are finally getting a long-discussed idea up and running. I'm feeling inspired, grateful, motivated - and wanted to share.
More from us soon โ˜บ๏ธโœจ๐Ÿ’ก
Today I'm enjoying some spring-like weather: bright sun and a nice breeze through my open windows. What a gift!
