Today is rainy and foggy here and i’ve decided to wear my sample of Barbicaja.
A beautiful floral creation built in an elegant, old fashioned way! Hyacinth, lily of the valley, freesia, tuberose, jasmine, orange blossom, etc …
It’s green, fresh, white floral, a bit woody through the end.
PS: the other 2 fragrances displayed in the pictures are not in the same category necessary, or could be compared to this one! They might perhaps trace an element, particular note / nuance but that is all!

A lot of rain for the last couple of days and foggy weather! I went for this dark, velvety-leathery Osmanthus from my collection!
Ambery, resinous and mysterious…
With a warm and spicy floral richness and an earthy-watery nuance…
Like damp wood, river stones and such… Just as if the flower was ment to bloom near a lake!
Released: 2025
Perfumer behind: Marc-Antoine Corticchiato

1991: Jean-Louis Sieuzac / Nejla Barbir / Dominique R.?
Inspiration behind: Mr. Dior’s very much loved Granville coast in Normandy -> where the sea 🌊 -> the land 🏖️
Imagine warm ambers and sandalwood in combination with florals ( soft and gentle ), salty air+breeze and a sunny like atmosphere. Never feels marine/ ocean, neither too tropical or such for me! It stays right where it should be, in the middle of! That’s what makes it really gorgeous in my opinion! Especially now in the Summer 🏖️🌊🌅
This is my mini flacon thanks to a good frag friend -> l’ve got the opportunity to test it and wear it!

Probably one of my fav green-citrusy, aromatic chypre. And one that i have put the most dent into! Especially now, this time of the year when we finally started to enjoy the first days of Summer[…]
Pour M. is clever, intellectual and ment to be worn!
This is my 118ml EDT Flacon from 1980s./ which i put more than half in terms of wearing.

What’s your #sotd choice? 🤔
I am wearing this beautiful and interesting creation showcasing the multi-facets of the patchouli leaf, contrasted by the sweet, fruity and green Fig nuances.

It’s that time of the year, when I think about the beauty of this gorgeous flower!
I’ve been talking in the past about different scent choices and such on this thematic, however it seems like every year new preferences appear, some change and my perception changes!
Rose is one of the most iconic raw material used in fragrance. It can feel fresh, powdery, spicy, jammy, woody, dark, romantic or even mysterious depending on how perfumers shape it.
Here are some of my actual favorite choices of 🌹 from my collection, showcasing how differently rose can speak:
Paris EDT – by YSL
Romantic rose. A lush bouquet drenched in violet and powder — elegant, feminine and very “Parisian”.
Tocade Extrait – by R0CHAS
A warm, playful rose wrapped in vanilla and amber. Sweet, creamy and comforting — rose as gourmand sensuality.
Coriandre Extrait – by JC
Rose becomes spicy and mossy. It hides inside a chypre structure with coriander and oakmoss.
Eau Suave – by Parfum d’Empire
Rose turns airy and almost incense-like. Soft, musky and transparent and fruity.
Nahema Extrait – by Guerl@in
Rose petals set on fire, emotional and luxurious — rose as passion and grandeur.
Dioressence EDT– by Christian DI0R
Rose ( chypre ) barbare! A spicy oriental rose woven with cinnamon and patchouli. Warm, mysterious and sensual.
One flower, different personalities…

Osmanthus Noir Parfumeurs du Monde
Chypre 21 James Heeley
Mitsouko Extrait Guerl@in
Eau de Metal Paco Rabanne
Gul Hina Areej le Doré
Mostly florals for this time! Chypre florals, oriental florals, whatever in this kind!

“Estée Lauder Pleasures
Pleasures is a fresh floral fragrance from the ’90s. The listed notes reveal a large floral bouquet, but to me, it’s all about green grass and lily of the valley under a cold early spring rain.”
Claudia
“Aging with grace...Quelques Fleurs was created by Robert Bienaimé in 1912, when perfumes where mainly soliflowers. This scent features a rich heart of lily of the valley surrounded and sustained by a peculiar and unique combination of many other flowers, thus creating one of the most sensual perfumes ever created. Perfect for those spring nights that are still a bit chill, and if you are curious to discover the “dark side” of muguet!”
Julia
“Lily of the valley has always been my favorite flower; fresh & nostalgic. I later learned that it is Finland’s national flower, “kielo.” I chose Odalisque by for its mossy freshness and vintage appeal.”
Denis
“With DI0R by C.DI0R, Edmond Roudnitska offered another luminous vision for the house —one where spring feels more textured, more couture. If Diorissimo is pure muguet in the morning light, Dior by Dior weaves Lily of the Valley into a richer floral tapestry, vibrant and elegantly structured.
Happy Spring, everyone! 🌼
Damiana
“Antheia’s Song by was created as an ode to Antheia, the Greek Goddess of gardens, blossoms, wreaths, and vegetation. In this fragrance, delicate lily of the valley is at the forefront, creating a spring garland with orange blossoms, magnolia, and rhododendron.”
Toma
“In this cavatina, the lily of the valley does not sing alone - it is echoed by the entire forest: every blade of grass, every damp branch, every drop of rain reflecting pearly clouds.A singular and remarkably successful homage to the quintessential lily of the valley, Diorissimo - more than a worthy descendant. Slightly textured, tender yet not fragile, touching yet never naive. A clear gesture of respect toward the French tradition, that ideal of purity and light which once secured for the flower an almost national status, making the composition feel unmistakably like ‘truly French perfume.”
Diana
“Lily of the valley is one of the first flowers to bloom after winter, symbolizing renewal, innocence, and new beginnings. When I think of spring time I think of Ландыш (Muguet) by Новая Заря (The New Dawn). Like a whisper of spring in a bottle, its scent is light, green, and gently sweet. It evokes the feeling of fresh air, soft sunlight, and gardens waking up after the cold months. That freshness and soapiness in this scent is exactly why this Lily note feels so intrinsically tied to springtime. There is something amazingly pure and soapy in this Lily of the Valley, making it a perfect soliflore to reach for when spring arrives.”
Denis
“On the first day of spring, Diorissimo blooms as perfumery’s most iconic tribute to muguet. Created in 1956 by Edmond Roudnitska for DI0R, it transformed the elusive Lily of the Valley into a luminous, crystalline dream.”
Happy Spring, everyone! 🌼
