Six Thunder student-athletes were named to the USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Teams after finishing in the Top 8 of their respective event categories in the Midwest this season.

Recently, the Wheaton Athletics Department was awarded a Division III Pathway to Excellence Grant, providing funding for two years for the department to create an entry-level athletics administration position. The Wheaton Athletics Department was notified of receiving the grant in late February. The grant was based on Wheaton's proposal to create an Athletics Communications/Athletics Operations Coordinator position.

Former Wheaton softball standout Paige Andrews has been named to the new position. In addition to this role, Andrews will continue to serve as an assistant coach for Wheaton Softball and head coach Amanda Fazzari. Andrews begins her new role on July 27 and will receive training at the NCAA Headquarters in early August. She also receives additional funding from the NCAA for professional development and will work with mentors for the program to enhance her work in intercollegiate athletics.

This year, awarded twenty-nine NCAA Division III institutions and conference offices grants in the upcoming cycles of the Pathway to Excellence Grant (23 recipients) and the Strategic Alliance Matching Grant (six recipients). The purpose of these grants is to encourage the access, recruitment, selection and long-term success of underrepresented individuals in Division III athletics administration and coaching.

College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its Academic All-District Team for Division III baseball this morning, and junior pitcher Devid Levengood has earned the award for the first time in his career! 🏅

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, baseball student-athletes must be a sophomore or older and possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50. Additionally, position players must have participated in 90% of their team's games, or have started 66% of all contests over the past season. For pitchers, they need to have pitched 35 or more innings in the season, or appear in 17 games as a pitcher.

Wheaton student-athlete Malachi Williams has been selected to participate in the upcoming College Sports Communicators (CSC) Student Program. He will be involved in the program and participate in the 2026 annual convention June 7-10 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Malachi is the first Wheaton student to be selected to participate in the NCAA Division III program that began in 2017 in a partnership between, CSC and D3SIDA. He is among 16 students from Division III schools around the country that earned selection to the program. In the program he will get training and education in a variety of fields and practices, will learn more about careers in athletics communications and meet people from across the nation at every division level.

The sports ministry trip for the Wheaton men's basketball team continued over the weekend and into Monday with a clinic on Friday and visits to Thessaloniki, Philippi and the village of Litochoro, located right next to Mount Olympus. The team returns to the United States on Wednesday.
Wheaton junior Grace Crowder competed in the women's high jump at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Crowder cleared the opening height of 1.59 meters (5' 2-1/2") today and finished 19th in the 22-woman field at the national championships.

The CCIW has announced the recipients of its annual Chris Martin Perseverance Award, and Wheaton football player Jaxon Powell is one of two student-athletes to earn the honor this year.

Named for the first full-time commissioner of the CCIW, the Chris Martin Perseverance Award honors a student-athlete who demonstrates an unwavering commitment to overcome a physical challenge in order to compete at the highest level of conference athletics.

Powell dealt with complications from a MRSA infection and recovered from a life-threatening medical situation before rejoining the Thunder football team on the sidelines last fall.
