In mid-November, this sweet mama dog was found living in the woods near a construction site in rural Dora, Alabama. She would come out to eat scraps from construction workers, but eventually the other dogs left — and she stayed behind alone.
When my husband returned to the site after Thanksgiving, it was clear she was pregnant. With colder weather approaching, she was brought into our home on December 3rd, where she quickly showed her true personality — friendly, smart, affectionate, and fully embracing the comforts of couch life.
On December 18th, she gave birth to 9 healthy puppies. Mom and pups are thriving, and we are now beginning the search for loving, responsible homes.

• Expected Weight Range: 40lb - 70lb
• Born: December 18
• Go-home: After 8 weeks of age
• Location: Irondale, Alabama
• Adoption fee: $100�(This helps recoup costs for food, supplies, and care during their first 8 weeks.)
To help set these puppies up for long-term success, Ellyn will be performing a professional temperament assessment at 49 days of age. This assessment is designed to give the most consistent and realistic insight possible into each puppy’s developing temperament, helping match them with homes that best suit their future energy level, confidence, and personality.
These puppies have been raised in a home environment with a devoted mama and plenty of positive human interaction. We are looking for committed homes that understand the responsibility of raising a puppy — especially one that will grow into a strong, active adult dog.
