This isn’t decor for me, it’s nervous system regulation πŸ›Œ

Before you call me high maintenance, hear me out πŸ˜…βž‘οΈ

βœ… 8 hours a night, so only clean fabrics touch my skin. Look for: cotton, linen, silk, bamboo: GOTS or OEKO-TEX certified. For my wardrobe I now look for pieces that are mostly made with natural fabric + will last me a long time

Note: swap gradually and use up what you have, then replace with intention. That’s more sustainable with less hoarding & overwhelm!

There is a reason why you feel regulated during your nature trips! Create those moments on a daily basis, open up your windows minimum once a day to let fresh air in + an air purifier is a good investment as well on top of this

🧬 Skin repair + collagen production peak while you sleep so the environment you sleep in matters a lot. Your bedding can improve sleep or keep you out of the deep state we all need for recovery - skin condition girlies listen up here πŸ‘€

A lot of people may not know this but some of these cheap incense brands/products might even contain saw dust, candles with poor quality fragrances & waxes, and room fresheners with god knows what 😬πŸ₯΄ keep it simple with trusted brands, simmer pots, & short bursts of essential oil diffusing if needed

This is a β€˜non toxic’ tip for your brain 🧠 a foggy brain is often due to poor sleep and overnight recovery. Deep sleep does so much more than you think and smallest step like avoiding harsh lights + screens will eventually make the biggest difference

Hair is everything!!! A small tip for healthy hair is to have natural fabrics but also consider silk or plant based silk alternatives like cotton sateen for less breakage & frizz

βœ… Cortisol should drop at night and clutter, synthetic fabrics, and blue light keep your system alert. Probably why I see an increase in sleep issues in so many women & men
Series almost done: comment LOVE and I’ll send my full holistic living guide with real brand picks (India + US) once it wraps up 🀍
UNDERRATED SKIN BUILDER πŸ’ͺ🏻

I swear your skin’s pharmacy is in your kitchen πŸ˜… folate helps your cells repair whereas collagen supplies the building material…

So basically folate will govern whether your skin cells will turnover, repair, and replicate efficiently to start with. Then come the building raw materials! πŸ’πŸ—οΈ

πŸ‘€ Although some say folic acid is better absorbed - it still needs to be converted into folate by your body before you can use it - which is where absorption VS utilization comes in play and why most of us have chronic B vitamin deficiencies affecting skin health, energy, and brain fog in the long run

SHARE this with someone who needs to start from the ground up!

πŸ₯‘ Combine your dal with other folate food sources like broccoli, chickpeas, coriander to increase the benefits
Guess which seed is hiding in that dressing πŸ‘‡

✨ Today’s salad is one of my favourite ways to sneak it in: roasted potatoes, carrots, beets + cooked moong, with a green dressing that’s doing a LOT more than it looks like.

πŸ₯’ Dressing: soaked 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds, handful mint, 1 cup spinach, good quality 2-3 tbsp Parmesan or nutritional yeast, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1-2 garlic raw or roasted, 1/2 cup shredded cucumber, salt & pepper to taste, lemon to taste, blend on high speed!!

P.s: A more meaningful zinc boost will be to use feta or paneer instead of Parmesan!! & to add some chickpeassss

SAVE & ENJOY one of my fav green dressings that we make regularly in my home 🏑
βœ”οΈ Support your skin environment: Hypochlorous acid might help on affected areas (antifungal and anti-inflammatory benefits without disrupting your skin barrier) and/or aloe vera spray to calm and support recovery
βœ”οΈ Swap polyester and synthetic fabrics for cotton or natural fibres, clothing sticking to skin while sweat and heat is building up is a recipe for fungal overgrowth - shower twice if needed
βœ”οΈ Most important step is to look at what’s feeding it from the inside: sugar intake, gut imbalances, carb heavy diet, and stress all show up on your skin before they show up anywhere else. Topical products alone won’t keep it from coming back.

Note: tinea versicolor is commonly seen showing up around summer and monsoon but there are quite a few similar conditions - contact a trusted dermat to get guidance further while addressing it from within

If you have questions, DM me! Happy to address them and follow along for more skin signals ✨
the clutter had to go πŸͺž
I truly feel it, who you walk in as into your bathroom and who walks out are two different people. For me, the clutter was too much. It was time to have my go-to natural products and tools, and keep a routine I didn’t have to think twice about.

➑️ My skin feels not too dry not too oily with natural bars and body washes.
➑️ Oil pulling has been a game changer (p.s. the type of oil will be different for some as per body nature + swishing vs holding also have their own benefits) because oral bacteria and gut bacteria are in constant conversation I don’t miss out on this anymore
➑️ Making the switch to pure cotton bath towels after my horrendous journey of using the weirdest fabrics back in the day has been great 😭

And honestly hoarding skincare isn’t it…so many ingredients on my body every single day? I’d rather stick to my ingredient-led ones for all the botanical richness.

DM me if you have any questions, happy to answer 🌿 more swaps coming soon ✨
For everyone who grew up on Bournvita and biscuits and wondered why their face had other plans 😭 the mechanism, finally explained + my holy grail tip below ⬇️

The dessert to breakout pipeline is real and I wish someone had explained it to me at 16.

And it’s not even just the sugar…it’s the combination of high GI food and late timing that makes it hit different.

The full overnight timeline is in the reel. (timings are approximate, could be faster or slower depending on your body) and honestly it’s not that you can’t have dessert. It’s that nighttime is when your body is least equipped to handle the spike. Knowing the why made it easier for me to make different choices.

So the most strategic thing to do to start with??

➑️ Avoid eating your dessert on an empty stomach. post protein & fibre rich meal is the best option

Share this if it finally makes the connection click 🫢
πŸŒΈβœ¨πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ³ My non toxic home swaps (and why they actually matter) CHOOSE which room I should cover next ➑️

These are 6 swaps I made slowly and intentionally, not overnight. And the difference is that I don’t feel like im compromising on my health whether during uni days or now and no endocrine disruptors are leaking into my daily routine πŸ™πŸΌ

The swap that surprised me the most? Non stick pans…I had no idea until I started looking into it 😬
TRUSTING THE PROCESS πŸ’«

🫢🏼Thank you to those who put their trust in me, and put their trust into the process of healing! I know it’s not always easy having patience and doing things differently than others sometimes, but we all know the results are worth it!

πŸ˜… In our teens and 20s, health is not particularly a β€˜fun and cool’ topic to think about and I was in the same boat growing up

BUT as soon as your body is done with the lifestyle habits, it’s going to randomly show signs and symptoms that you didn’t expect or experience before πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

πŸ˜” I know how it feels to silently suffer through the most inconvenient symptoms and be told that β€˜it’s normal’ or β€˜it’ll pass’ but NOT told how they manifest into worse issues in the long run

πŸ’«To all the amazing people who decide β€˜enough is enough’ I’m so glad that you have taken the steps to invest your resources to prioritise your health sooner rather than delaying it for future you to handle

✍🏻 So here’s a quote that I genuinely love:

β€œIf you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to take time for your illness” - Joyce Sunada

✨ I’m currently studying contemplative psychotherapy + integration of mindfulness into daily lives and will soon enrol in a functional medicine certification πŸ₯³

GET TO KNOW ME πŸ‘‹πŸΌ I’m Ayushi Shah, a Functional and Integrative Health Coach and Yoga Instructor helping people heal their root cause imbalances with an integrative, mindful approach!

πŸ‘‰πŸ» From the age of 15, I’d been suffering through hormone and gut imbalance symptoms like chronic fatigue, low mood, chronic bloating, anxiety, cystic acne, etc. It got to a point where I didn’t have energy to leave my bed and get on with my day.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» After running from one doctor to another, and taking medications left and right, I realised - enough is enough - I needed to get myself out of this situation and find my higher self again. Although, my life didn’t change overnight.

πŸ’« I understood the importance of how all systems in our mind and bodies are connected and that avoiding one type of food or losing weight is not going to get me anywhere without addressing the deeper imbalances within me. I looked to functional medicine, ancestral remedies, therapy, eastern philosophies, naturopathy, functional medicine lab testing, and much more to create a unique approach to reach my optimal health goals and with consistency, I healed myself!

πŸ’« My mission is to redefine what β€œhealthy” means and help people in their own unique journeys, live the best versions of themselves.

Follow to learn, heal and grow together ✨
