The hallway was important to me, I wanted people to walk in, feel comfortable and get a vibe for our home.
We finally got the flooring laid last summer - because the guys at work are doing it at weekends, I’m always bottom of the pile. Now we just need to do the skirting boards.
But it’s the small things that count when creating an impression, like the new lamp and the console table. I found it online, when it arrived it didn’t look as sturdy as I expected, but once I put it together, it worked well.
My only regret is the mirror, I wish I’d sized up, it looks a little lost, but it’ll have to do for now.

BBQ’s, water fights, reading in the sun - bliss! I’m so pleased we got the patio ready a few weeks ago. And I worked hard putting the new planter in over Easter. The plan is the flowers will all shoot up and hide the ugly breeze blocks.

I settled on the ceiling light before Christmas but then I took ages to find wall lights that would complement it and fit in with the mirror. The amount I ordered and returned was crazy! They were either too big or not the right colour when they arrived - it’s so hard judging online sometimes.
And in the end I picked a style very different to what I set out looking for.
They’re finally up, despite my husband hanging them upside down at first! And I’m pretty pleased to tick off another job from my list:)

Currently we have storage in here from the vanity, but the drawers aren’t as big as they look because they had to be made shorter to take account of the plumbing at the back, so my make up is currently in a basket on the floor and any spare shampoos etc. are in the main bathroom which cupboard is getting ripped out when we do that bathroom.

* When the builders leave, it’s not really finished, but focus on how far you’ve come, not how much you still have to do!
