Today, we closed the books on the 2025-26 Lower School year with a beloved closing ceremony tradition featuring our fifth graders and kindergarteners singing “See you later!”
We bid a fond adieu to our retiring and departing faculty who have served the Lower School so well for decades. We are so grateful to Ms. Atwood, Ms. Britt, Ms. Conaty, and Ms. Kirk for the care, kindness, love, creativity, energy, and service they poured into our community. We wish them the best in their next chapter.

This class leaves Webb with more than knowledge gained in classrooms. They leave with friendships formed over years, resilience built through challenges, memories woven into the life of this community, and the character to lead meaningful lives beyond our campus.
At yesterday’s ceremony, we heard from Robert and Julie Webb’s daughters, Susie Reis ‘71 and Julia Bland ‘69, who shared the history and intentions behind their parents’ founding of Webb School. We also heard reflections from valedictorian Sybella Crane and salutatorian Ben Vickers as they addressed their classmates one final time. We recognized Rob Frost ‘86 with the Robert Webb Service Award for outstanding service and leadership to the Webb community. And the two highest award honors were bestowed to Malvika Singh ( Margaret and Leonard Scheuermann Trophy) and Murphy Diddle (Dr. S. J. Chapman Memorial Award).
After receiving their diplomas, each graduate collected a selected book gifted by Webb School, continuing a graduation tradition that dates back to the founding of the school itself.
Webb graduates will be heading to 64 colleges and universities across the country. Some will be a few miles away while others will be thousands of miles away. No matter where they roam, we know they will carry with them the lessons learned here: stay curious, lead with confidence and character, act with kindness, civility, integrity, and discipline, stay “hungry and humble,” pursue passions, and take responsibility for living an honorable life.

Tomorrow, the Class of 2026 will walk across the graduation stage, but their Webb journey started long before this moment. Along the way, they discovered new passions, built lasting friendships, faced challenges, and grew into thoughtful leaders and compassionate humans. Through every classroom conversation, performance, competition, service opportunity, and everyday moment in between, they helped shape the Webb community as leaders of character.
As they take their next steps, we know they will carry the values of the Webb community with them wherever they go. This is the start of an exciting new chapter, and we are excited to cheer them on along the way.

The Spartans finished the year as state runner-up after an incredible postseason run. While today’s result wasn’t the ending they hoped for, this team competed relentlessly, represented Webb with character, and left everything on the field.
