So I've felt blocked up on my left side for 4/5 years now and originally was put on a range of antihistamines assuming it was hayfever, but last May I had the diagnosis that it is actually a blocked tear duct, which is why none of the meds were doing anything for it.
Anyway, skipping ahead to this week, I got a call to say my surgery date has been confirmed for next week. Yesterday I went for my pre op consultation, they explained the procedure and recovery timings including when I will be able to sing again.
Unfortunately I won't be able to sing for 4 weeks until I've had my checkup and they have given me the all clear to start singing again.
Even though I've been on the waiting list for a year it still caught me off guard having less than a week to emotionally prepare for it. I'm pretty nervous about the surgery as it'll be my first time under general anaesthetic and I'm also going to look like I've been beaten up for a little while after, and then on top of that I can't do my favourite thing for 4 weeks, but on the plus side, once it's all done and healed I'll finally get this stuffiness feeling gone!
So unfortunately this does mean we won't be playing any shows until I've been given the go ahead to sing again as this can dislodge the stents I will have in my nose. I'll keep you all updated and hopefully see you all in July with a β¨ fully functional face β¨
Absolutely gutted to miss out on some great gigs this coming month, so please go down and cause havoc on my behalf!
