We are proud to congratulate Raheesh (Batch 2021) for being awarded an Honorable Mention at the Mind Rain Thesis Award 2026 (Edition 02) for his graduation thesis project, ‘BETWEEN FICTION & DEBRIS: Making of a Diegetic Disaster’.

Guided by Associate Professor Shreyas Baindur, the project explores architecture through the lens of worldbuilding, treating fictional environments as legitimate sites of critical design inquiry. Set within the evolving speculative landscape of Waste World, the study uses cinematic analysis, layered mapping, and temporal reconstruction to examine how built forms, scarcity, and social behaviors mutate over time—framing fiction as an architectural laboratory to test speculative possibilities beyond present-day constraints.

Congratulations, Raheesh, on this well-deserved recognition!
We are proud to congratulate Akshaya Reddy (Batch 2021) for being awarded an Honorable Mention at the Mind Rain Thesis Award 2026 (Edition 02) for her graduation thesis project, ‘THE GIFT OF TIME: A place of care and not a place of cure’.

Guided by Associate Professor Kiran Kumar, the project explores how architecture can become an active form of care—shaping environments that support, comfort, and restore rather than diagnose or cure. Through a user-centric approach embedded in atmosphere, material, and spatial experience, the design holds space for the emotional rhythms of vulnerability, offering clarity, dignity, and quiet reassurance when it is needed most.

Congratulations, Akshaya, on this well-deserved recognition!
Congratulations to Pulakith R and Rayan Khan, Batch 2022, whose 8th Semester AD Studio project, The Chow-Chow Bhath, has been featured among the Top 10 projects at ACARA 2026, Asian Contest of Architectural Rookie’s Award.

A well deserved recognition of their thoughtful approach to architecture, urbanity, and public space. Congratulations to the students and their guide, Prashanth G Pole, Professor!
The Class of 2026 has completed half a decade of learning, growing, creating, and making memories at the WCFA campus, and has now flown out with flying colors.

We hope they go on to achieve remarkable milestones and leave their mark wherever they go. Wishing them all the very best for the journey ahead.

The Courtyard is going to miss you guys.
The students of Semester 8 explored the concept of “identity” in the ever-evolving city of Bangalore.

Students in each vertical studied and documented areas that represented different phases in the city’s evolutionary timeline — the 16th-century Pete, 18th-century Cantonment, post-independence suburbs, and post-1990s layouts.

Each student designed a quasi-public building that engaged with the public realm in and around their respective sites.

The Architectural Design VI studio dealt with the design of a school for 800 to 900 students. Along with an investigation into various ideologies in education and their spatial connotations, the studio focused on understanding the impact of the materiality and tectonics of the structure on the teaching-learning environment of the school.
