I am not a vet or a medical professional. This is just what I have learned over the last 7 years and what I do for my own three dogs.
Always follow your vet's guidance especially if your dog has been diagnosed or is showing symptoms.
What I do know is this. A sedentary, overweight dog is not a protected dog. Muscle supports the spine.
Appropriate exercise builds muscle. Keeping them lean reduces the load on every disc in their back.
The dogs most at risk are the ones who are overweight, under muscled, and not moving regularly.
I will be doing a follow up video on how to actually build your dog's hind muscle so stay tuned for that one
