Pattie and I don't pour the medicine... (we are not shamans)
We organize the retreats,
create the safe container,
and gather the right people (grounded, spiritually mature, sincere seekers of truth)
We are, however, absolutely blessed to have connected with AMAZING shamans who lead the actual ayahuasca ceremonies.
This family has been doing this for over 25 years and truly walk the path.
We have worked with many shamans over the years and these folks, not just saying this, but they truly are the BEST we've ever met. They are highly experienced but so humble you'd never even know they were shamans.
In fact, they don't even prefer that term. They often refer to themselves as "musicians."
The medicine or the "tea" as they call it, is the real teacher.
Anyways, we have run 12 retreats since 2020 with this same family and can honestly say that they keep getting better and better.
This one is unique, though, because it will be the most intimate - only 24 guests
That's intentional; smaller groups allow for deeper support and a more connected experience.
Most importantly, this is not something we rush or “sell.” We use an application and screening process, and every accepted applicant has a personal Zoom call with Pattie to make sure this experience feels aligned and supportive.

Always worrying about his future.
His therapist suggested... "baby steps"
Don't worry about later today, or later this week, or month, or year...
Instead focus on what you need to do... NOW
It's amazing at what you can accomplish with one step at a time.
You can build a successful business.
You can learn an insturment
You can even overcome...
Just about anything
I know that sounds like horrible advice! lol
BUT... so many have it in their heads that...
"I'm not going to try...
until I am good at this thing."
But of course that doesnt' really work!
There was this study once where a bunch of photography students were split into 2 groups...
Group 1 - They were told that their entire grade depended on ONE photo.
better make it a good one!
Focus on QUALITY
Group 2 - They were told to just take as many photos as they possibly could.
They were graded on volume.
Who do you think... in the end... produced the BEST photo?
It wasn't the perfectionists in group 1
It was Group 2 becuase they got more practice
We have to be willing to suck at something...
Usually for quite a while
If we have any plans on becoming good.
To help with this I often suggest "lowering the bar"
Which is to say... allow yourself to get out there and do your best.
Do that every day
and one day you will blow people's minds with whatever it is you're doing!
and it's never because of your careful planning...
and always because of your practice.

We have to first make the choice.

We need to make the choice to get busy living... or get busy dying.

and in my experience, sometimes the feelings of triumph
that come ONLY when you face your fears
outweigh the satisfaction of obtaining that orginial thing you had in mind in the first place!
When you make it a habit of
going in the direction of of your fears...
You realize that fear is not as thick and impervious as it feels...
and each time you move through it
You becoome stronger
Or better put...
You become AWARE of how powerful you have always been!
Most people are utterly paralized and controlled by this sensation of fear.
But the wise cats of our time, like Carl Jung realized that if anything...
Fear can be an indicator...
a sign post that
this IS your path to go down.
Moving through fear cultivates strength, courage, patience, and growth...
and often it's those exact qualities that allow us to create the things we want most in life... family, love, prosperity, health

Nonsense!

But I have found that as long as you keep trying... keep playing the cards life gives you, eventually, something sticks.

But that's not even the point becuase that wears off pretty quickly.
However the continual process of taking action...

Keeps you moving forward...
Keeps you progressing, growing, learning, expanding,
Experiening!
Unless you are locked up, you're not stuck.
And even if you are in prison...
I just listened to a cool podcast on Joe Rogan with an X con who did over 20 years in prison.
And in solitary confinement he chose...
To write a book.
He did do with a flimsy pen, on scrapbook paper.
Fast forward a few years he's on Joe Rogan!

and the fact that they found a way out...
gave us all tremendous hope.
Your pain, your past, is like fuel for a unique special type of light
and with it, you can do a lot of good in the world.
