Come January I was in my first pole class at in Hell’s Kitchen 🔥
I was an elementary school ballerina and a high school belly dancer but since then my dance skills have hit a dead end at the occasional rave.
With no real dance background and as I’d find - definitely no core or upper body strength - I got comfortable being the worst student at pole dance several nights a week.
Heels were a game changer. God bless Pleaser heels.
I’ve seen many dancers show their progress after 1 class or 1 month without adding they’re also gymnasts, Pilates baddies or have years of dance under their belt - so this is the realistic version. It’s just me and the joy of dance.
I still struggle to climb the pole. My body waves can be disjointed, and sometimes I fall off the pole and try to make it look sexy. I’m sore and bruised. I love it.
