Love the character that this bar adds to the kitchen, giving a certain designer kitchen brand but without the price tag!
We got both the bar and the brackets from the House of Brass online, they will cut to size but the standard 2.5m fit us perfectly.

I started pricing up different options and the price of built in vs freestanding was pretty severe, and then we came across John Benches on Etsy. He makes these monks benches in varying lengths and will customise based on your specs, so this one was purpose built for our space.
I painted it in in Jewel Beetle, and I didn’t prime it (which I’ve never done before!) but the Intelligent Eggshell has an inbuilt primer and I wanted to give it a test!
2 coats later and she looks beautiful I think, also all that great storage underneath, who doesn’t need more storage!

One of them was quite deep so I went for shadow boxes for both, and then of course I didn’t want white or black ones so I painted them with testers and spare paint we had, which of course made a 5 minute job last at least 3 weeks 😂
