One year after Morocco and a few months after the Balkans, Iâm off on another big adventure, maybe the biggest one for me so far: riding from Huanchaco, Peru, to ValparaĂso, Chile. Two cities by the ocean, which I probably wonât see much of over the next two months.
My itinerary isnât fully defined yet, but Iâm expecting something around 6,000 km and 75,000 m of elevation. From here, it already looks extraordinary, and Iâm filled with joy, excitement, and fear. If everything goes well, Iâll end up in ValparaĂso to finally reunite with my sister, who lives there and whom I havenât seen in years.

Once again, my bike became the best companion I could imagine to explore new countries.
Together we saw it all, from forgotten villages to bustling cities, from iconic (and sometimes touristic) postcard views to remote, barely traveled paths.
Twenty-six days out there, finding our own rhythm, juggling between planning and improvisation, meeting new people and discovering a culture with a unique history.

After the warmth of Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia, we reached Montenegro. Stunning but far more touristic.
We had planned to stay longer, to explore beyond the well known Kotor, Durmitor, and Lake Kapetanovo, but winter caught up with us.
Snow in the mountains and freezing temperatures led us to fast forward and pause our journey to Sarajevo to wait for clearer skies.
Next on the menu: the final part toward Croatia, our final destination.

đŹđ§ Picture this: climbing all the Alpine cols of the Tour de France and unexpectedly running into during one of the toughest ascents. Thatâs exactly what happened to me two weeks before the Tour. I was hungry after encountering multiple closed shops and exhausted from riding for over 24 hours with no sleep. Just when I was at my lowest, Geraint Thomas caught up to me, took the time to chat, and even shared some gel chewsâshowing how kind he is and making a huge difference for me.
