I am overwhelmed with emotions.. A year ago around this time I registered thinking, “am I really going to do this?” My life was filled with ups & downs, all I can think of is how rewarding it will be dedicating this to what I was going through.. As I entered 2023 I lost my brother in law to cancer.. my brother who I known since kindergarten. It was the most heartbreaking experience everrr but the feeling of almost being immune wasn’t too far off. I had experienced the same thing when I was living in LA, my uncle, who became a dad.. the one who opened his doors for me to follow my crazy dreams.. Living the “Hollywood life.” Ha.
Flashback to 2014, when I woke up in a hospital bed after a totaled wreck car accident. I got surgery for my left femur.. I was young, scared & had so many fears during recovery..
Running became my therapy. I learned to find love for it until my body just craved it. I cried during my long runs remembering why I started.. I learned to say NO to late nights, alcohol, outings, bad habits & unhealthy foods. In the end it was all worth it for ME!
I dedicated this run to my angels & my half robot leg. 🤍🕊🦿
The last 6 miles were HARD!! I impressed myself by not stopping at all, slowed down a bit and picked right back up. It means soo much to me for everyone who was with me through my journey up until the finish line..
