2. Gently remove the plant from its pot:
Don’t pull! Squeeze the sides of the pot to loosen the root ball.
3. Check the roots:
Here’s how to tell the difference:
✅ Healthy roots – firm, white or light green
❌ Rotten roots – brown or black, mushy, may smell bad
4. Trim the bad roots:
Cut off anything soft or discolored, and dust the cuts with cinnamon.
5. Let the roots breathe:
Air-dry the roots for 20–30 minutes to help prevent rot.
6. Repot into fresh soil:
Loosely spread the roots and gently fill in around them. Don’t pack the soil too tightly. Water lightly.
7. No fertilizer for the first 2 weeks!
Give the plant time to recover and adjust.
