If youโve been following for a while, youโll already know this is not my first rodeo ๐. Veggie Wok is one of those places I keep coming back to because it just hits every single time.
Yes, the food is cooked from a dark kitchen, but before you scroll past, you can actually eat in next door at, which means you get to enjoy everything fresh, hot and straight from the wok with family or friends.
The flavours are bold ๐ง ๐ถ๏ธ, comforting and consistent (the dream combo). The masala chips are still undefeated ๐, the Manchurian brings all the flavour, and the rice does exactly what itโs supposed to โ quietly supporting the burst of flavours on the plate. I loved the salt & pepper broccoli ๐ฅฆ, chilli momos were perfect for my garlic cravings ๐ฅ, and the new chilli cheese jalapeno balls? Very, very good ๐

Now, onto the main event - food! ๐ด Letโs just say the starters came in strong ๐ช๐ฝ. The Paneer in Creamy Red Pesto was everything I wanted it to be โ pasta in that sauce would be elite ๐๐ฝ. And the Mogo Picante was ridiculously good โ easily an 11/10 situation. We even tried the Spicy Mogo Pomodoro just for LOLs and yup, both mogo dishes slapped ๐
The Zenzero Hot Pizza ๐ had the perfect kick ๐ถ๏ธ and that wood-fired base? Chefโs kiss ๐. The Veg Cannelloni was comfort in a dish, while the Stuffed Mushrooms ๐โ๐ซ with garlicky spinach and bรฉchamel had me questioning how something this healthy could taste that good - the sauce! ๐คฏ
And letโs talk about the Penne Chilli Alfredo. I didnโt want to love itโฆ but I really did. ๐ซถ

Ruislip High Street has officially levelled up because SKVP has landed right on my doorstep and theyโre officially opening this Saturday! ๐ต๐ฅ
Letโs get straight to it: the Vada Pav was everything I wanted it to be and more ๐ฅ๐. PLOT TWIST: my husband preferred the cheese Vada Pav ๐ง. He reckons the cheese brings all the flavours together, and annoyingly, heโs right ๐ฌ.
The Sev Puri had me reliving my Mumbai wedding shopping experience ๐ฎ๐ณ ๐๏ธ โ when youโve been sat in the shop for hours, starving, and the salesman refuses to let you leave so he sends his boy out to grab you chaat from outside ๐๐พโโ๏ธ.
The Papdi Chaat also deserves its own round of applause ๐. Finally someone who understands that dahi should be sweet and salty. โ โ
The Butter Dabeli ๐ฅ was another surprise. I usually avoid them because theyโre too spicy but this one didnโt have me fighting for my life โญ๏ธ๐ฅ.
Controversial, the Schezwan Chilli Paneer is not your typical Indo-Chinese style, but it was giving and the Kokum Sherbet ๐ฅค, confusing at first, but weirdly addictive.

This oneโs for the sweet tooth squad ๐ Northwood has a new eggless dessert spot in town, and Iโve found your next go-to for post-dinner cravings or dessert for lunch vibes. Bubbles n Brownies combines bubble tea, waffles, cookie dough, and ice cream all under one roof, AND, everything is fully eggless. ๐๐ฝ
I started off with the passionfruit bubble tea with mango jelly at 25% sweetness ๐ฅญ. It was super refreshing in this UK heatwave. ๐ Are you ready for 33 degrees on Monday? ๐ฅต
The Dubai Chocolate ๐ฆ๐ช Waffle had me doing a double take. Iโll be honest, I donโt understand the hype of DC but this waffle was heavenly and not too rich, but just right๐ซโจ.
Then came my fave, the Cookie Doughโฆ warm, gooey, and dangerously addictive ๐คค.
And finally the Oreo Gelato Burger. Sounds weird, tastes weirdly amazing. Think sweet, savoury, and surprisingly moreish.

Indian brunch has gone through its glow-up ๐ซ think creative fusion, English twists, and all that good stuff. But Masala Bowl are taking it back to the roots ๐ฎ๐ณ. Their new brunch/lunch menu celebrates proper traditional dishes, the kind your parents would actually nod at ๐ด๐ผ๐ต๐ฝ.
We kicked things off with the Salt & Pepper Broccoli ๐ฅฆ and I havenโt stopped thinking about it since. Crispy, perfectly spiced, and that sanchar? Next level ๐. Iโve never had sanchar on broccoli before, but it might just be my new fave ๐. Then came the Chilli Garlic Mogo (a forever favourite that never misses), followed by the Chilli Paneer and Samosa Chaat โ two classics done very well.
For mains, I ordered the Bouquet of English Vegetables, basically a Surti-style undiyu shaak with paratha ๐ฝ๐ฅ๐ ๐ซ.
๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธNow hear me outโฆ I would never order undiyu without my mum and dad present but this was honestly delicious. I need to bring them back here ASAP.
The Lemon Cheesecake ๐ had me tingly (donโt ask) โจ and the Roasted Coffee Chocolate Mousse โ๏ธ๐ซ took me right back to school daysโฆ until the coffee kicked in and brought me straight back. Nostalgic and bold.

I was craving something indulgent but easy, and this vodka pasta hits every single time. ๐คค
Think date-night vibes but made in your cosy kitchen, with a chilli kick, creamy finish, and that perfect mozzarella pull ๐ง.
Iโve never been a fan of the smell (or taste!) of Parmesan, so I swapped it out for mozzarella but you do you!
โThe question is though, would you add vodka or leave it out?

If you donโt already, chop 1kg of garlic in one go, freeze in freezer bags with criss-cross lines and boom ๐ฅ, youโve got garlic cubes ready for any recipe. We do this with everything! Ginger ๐ซ, chillies ๐ถ๏ธ, coriander ๐ฟ, and sometimes even onions ๐ง . Game changer! #AdultingBeLike

1. Boil your pasta and save some water before draining
2. In hot olive oil, add chilli flakes and onion
3. Once softened, add your garlic
4. Stir in mushrooms and cook till reduced
5. Add tomato purรฉe and mix well
6. Add vodka (if using) and let the alcohol burn off
7. Stir in fresh basil
8. Loosen with pasta water and season
9. Add your pasta, mix well, add more pasta water if needed
10. Stir in single cream for that silky texture
11. Finish with mozzarella and garnish with more basil
Thatโs it! Creamy, fiery, and packed with flavour ๐ฅ๐ฅ.

Dessert? An absolute win. The Gulab Jamun Cheesecake was light, creamy, and packed with that classic cardamom warmth. ๐ฐโจ Oh, and if youโre into cocktails, the Lychee Wine is a must-try. Dangerously easy to sip. ๐ธ

And then thereโs their MAD JAN OFFER: just ยฃ5.99 for ALL mains (yes, including this bad boy ๐คค). Add sides like flaming fries or hash brown bites, a dip, and a drink for ยฃ2.99. Absolute bargain post-Christmas wallet. ๐ฅ Itโs running until 30th Jan, so youโve still got time to try it!
The sides were decent, but the Chilli Cheese Bites? Oh. My. God. ๐ต Iโve been hearing the hype forever, and now I get it!!! ๐ง๐ฅ If youโve got space (big if), the Berliner Doughnut Bites are simple but so comforting. ๐ซ
