❗️Comment MAGIC and I’ll send you the link + discount for summer program.
.
One thing I really appreciate as a parent is flexibility, because summer with kids is basically one giant puzzle of travel plans, work schedules, naps, swimming lessons, grandparents, and “wait, what are we doing next week?” energy.
.
That’s why I love that Honey Bunny’s summer program doesn’t have to be an all summer commitment.
You can choose: 🌿 full days or half days 🌿 certain weeks based on your schedule 🌿 a temporary childcare option if you’re visiting Prague 🌿 an international English-speaking environment 🌿 crafts, science projects, activities, little excursions, outdoor time, and really good food
.
But the biggest thing for me is trust.
.
We sent Ivo here last year, and he genuinely had a good time. The program is run by people who feel warm, thoughtful, and aligned with the way we’re raising him, with gentle parenting guidelines and a lot of care behind what they do.
.
So if you’re in Prague with kids this summer and trying to figure out how to give them something fun while also keeping your own life semi-functional, this might help.
.
Because yes, childhood should feel magical.
But parents also need to answer emails part of the summer😅

In Northern Bohemia, glassmaking isn’t just a craft — it’s a legacy passed through generations.
📍 From Liberec, it’s just about a 30-minute drive to Ajeto glassworks. Inside, molten glass transforms into art through traditional handcraft, precision, and decades of experience passed from one generation to the next. The heat, the movement, the atmosphere — every piece begins entirely by hand.
👉 Just nearby in Nový Bor stands the headquarters of Lasvit, the globally renowned Czech design house known for monumental glass installations, luxury lighting, and collaborations all over the world — from New York to Dubai.
A place where Bohemian craftsmanship meets contemporary design.
Rooted in tradition, recognized worldwide.
Feel free to come and experience it yourself. ✨

One of the first restaurants I went to when I moved to Prague in 2015, and still one of the places I recommend when someone asks for a dinner that feels special.
.
When I asked friends what they thought about, I can’t tell you how many people said:
.
“Oh, I celebrate my birthday there every year.”
.
“Oh yeah, that’s where we go for our anniversary.”
.
And honestly, I get it.
.
Sansho is the kind of special occasion restaurant you go to not just because the food is reliably incredible, but because of the whole feeling
.
The service. The terrace. The twinkly lights outside. The church in view. The way dinner somehow feels like a proper little event without trying too hard.
.
🦀And if you’ve lived in Prague for a while, you probably already know about the soft shell crab slider
.
Perfectly crispy, tucked into the softest bao bun, and still very much worth ordering.
.
The tasting menu also had pork belly with broccoli that brought me right back to every American Chinese dinner I loved growing up, except, inconveniently, much better.
.
🍤And the main course? Prawns in orange sambal curry with roti and jasmine rice
.
I won’t spoil what makes the curry so good because honestly, you should just go taste it for yourself.
.
🍸Also, there’s a kimchi mezcalina on the cocktail list that might make you like cocktails even if cocktails have never really been your thing
.
Just look at the cocktail menu. That’s all I’m saying.
.
Save this for your next “where should we go for dinner?” night in Prague.

Well, not an effective one anyway. 😅

Comment OLIVE and I’ll send you early access to the next one 🍕🥂
.
For this Eat & Meet Prague event, I hosted a Detroit style pizza workshop with, mostly because I love their pizza, but also because they’re the only Detroit style pizza place in Prague (maybe most of Central Europe?!).
.
And yes, Prague has pretty epic Neapolitan pizza, but I needed people to understand the magic of crispy cheese edges, fluffy dough, square pans, and very American toppings.
.
We learned about the dough, the history of Detroit style pizza, worked with the dough a bit, and then got to top our own pizzas with a ridiculous amount of toppings.
.
Did I use their menu as inspiration because I cannot recreate those masterpieces alone? Absolutely.
.
Did we also have French fries for breakfast? Also yes.
Technically there were appetizers and mimosas too, but let’s be honest, fries before noon is the kind of community event energy I support. 🍟🥂
.
It was such a hit that we decided to do round two.
.
So if you missed the first one, comment OLIVE and I’ll send you the details before tickets go live.

Because now I think it’s normal to have farmers markets in beautiful squares, huge parks in the middle of the city, beer outside the second the sun comes out, neighborhood street festivals, and river walks that casually look like a movie scene.
.
📍Jiřího z Poděbrad
Yes, it’s still under construction, but between the cafés, restaurants, farmers market, and playground, it still feels like one of the most magical meeting spots in the city.
.
📍Střelecký ostrov
Empty and covered in untouched snow in winter, cool and shaded in summer. Somehow it’s right in the center, but still feels like a little escape with some of the best views in Prague. 🌿
.
📍Stromovka
The Central Park of Prague, but with more beer. Playgrounds, ponds, roller skating paths, places to sit, places to drink, places to question why you don’t come here more often.
.
📍Dva Kohouti
The absolute epitome of outdoor beer culture. It doesn’t matter what day of the week it is, it somehow always feels like a party here. Ideal for beer, gossip, and pretending one drink won’t turn into three. 🍻
.
📍Krymská
Prague knows how to street party. Korso Krymská is this Saturday, May 23rd, and it’s one of my favorite street events of the year with live music, local businesses, drinks, food, and that perfect neighborhood chaos.

But after 11 years in Prague, there are certain comfort foods and little rituals that just make life feel easier, cozier, and more like home.
.
And yes… sometimes that comfort looks like frozen pizza and expensive snacks eaten on the couch in sweatpants.
.
Some Tesco Finest products I’m emotionally attached to:
• Aberdeen Angus striploin 🥩 for when you want a steak dinner at home
• Tropical fruit & nuts muesli honestly so good with yogurt and fresh fruit
• All butter cheese straws because I physically cannot be trusted around cheesy crackers
• Pizza Prosciutto Cotto 🍕 surprisingly legit for frozen pizza
.
Ok your turn: what’s the random grocery item you’ve become emotionally attached to living abroad? 😅

.
Very official research, obviously.
.
Of course, I still had to make him try the Czech things he can’t really get in Los Angeles, like řízek, párek v rohlíku, and Pilsner 🍺
.
Which is funny because he’s not even a big beer drinker, but Pilsner? Different story. Arguably one of the best national beers out there 🇨🇿
.
Then I needed his California opinion on the Prague versions of things we actually have back in LA.
🍩 Fresh flavors, fluffy dough, and not that overly fried feeling where you need to lie down and reconsider your choices. Honestly better than a lot of donut places we’ve tried in LA.
🍔 I made him try the one in LA before coming here because this family takes research very seriously. Prague had fresher toppings, tomatoes that actually tasted like tomatoes, crisp lettuce, prettier presentation, and it wasn’t aggressively salty. Also, unlimited ketchup in Prague?? Whattttt.
🥗 Since bowls are basically a California food group, Richard had to try this one. Healthy food that actually tastes good, sauces you want to drink, and prices that don’t make you feel personally attacked.
.
A very productive family visit, honestly.
.
What would you make your sibling try first in Prague? 👀

🇺🇸 I am American, born and raised in Southern California. My husband is from Slovakia 🇸🇰. We both grew up somewhere else and then moved to Prague, so our kids will have a completely different childhood to ours.
.
🎁 Sometimes it makes me a little sad. My 3 year old will not grow up surrounded by mostly Mexican family, eating tamales at Christmas and tearing into presents on the morning of the 25th.
.
🔫 But he will also never have to practice shooter drills at school. I will never need to send him to class and quietly wonder in the back of my mind if I will see him again after a normal school day.
.
🎃 He will not live in a street where every house is covered in huge Halloween decorations, Christmas lights and flags 🎄. He will not stand every morning with his hand over his heart, facing the American flag and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance from memory.
.
‼️ If you did not grow up in the US, this probably sounds strange. I said those words every weekday from childhood until high school and never questioned it, until I left and realised that no one I knew had anything similar, except a friend who went to school in Russia.
.
🧑🧑🧒🧒 Our kids will also grow up far from family. One set of grandparents is on another continent, the other is a four hour drive away. Part of me wishes Sunday lunch at grandma’s could be a weekly thing.
.
✅ But they will grow up with the family we chose here 🧡. Friends who share our values and are raising their kids in similar ways. No awkward holiday small talk with the relative who thinks some people do not deserve to marry who they love. No smiling politely while someone talks about “illegal immigrants” like they are not human.
.
There is a lot my kids will never experience because we moved to 🇨🇿. For Ivo and soon Stella, I would choose this life again every single time.
.
Would you raise your kids in a different country to where you grew up?

I was burned out 😮💨 and questioning everything. A job I once loved no longer felt fulfilling, and the life I was building back home in California didn’t feel like mine anymore.
.
Then I stumbled on a blog post about teaching English abroad 📚🌍. Something clicked. I wanted a change—and this felt like my way out. So I quit my job, said goodbye to my boyfriend and family 👋🏼, and booked a one-way ticket to Prague.
.
I thought I’d stay for a year. Max.
.
🏡Fast forward a decade, and somehow this city became home A place where I found time—to travel ✈️, to rest 🧘🏼♀️, to build a life with space for creativity and connection.
.
And somewhere along the way, I picked up my phone and started sharing all the places I was eating 📸🍰—slowly building this food-loving, Prague-curious community of nearly 20,000 people.
. People who’ve come to meetups 🥂, made new friends 🫶🏼, and bonded over dumplings, pastries, and the best hidden corners of the city.
.
This week, I’m relaunching my blog! 🥳 But this time it’s not just about food.
.
It’s a space for anyone curious about life in Prague—from where to eat 🥖, to who to know 🧑🏼🎨.
. A place to discover not only great restaurants, but also the creatives, freelancers, and small business owners who make this city so special 💫.
.
Like —who took these dreamy anniversary photos 📷✨ and is just one of the many amazing people I’ve been lucky to meet here.
.
This blog is my way of giving back to the community I’ve found 💛 A guide for anyone new, curious, hungry, or just looking for something real.
.
Thank you for being here 🤍
. And stick around— is just getting started.
