Vancouver Iranian Ensemble (NONAVAZAN)
feat. Vancouver Iranian Choir
Founded in 2024 by Vanchoir (Vancouver Iranian Choir Society), NONAVAZAN is one of the largest active Iranian instrumental ensembles in Canada.
The ensemble brings together musicians from diverse musical backgrounds and experience levels to rehearse, learn, and perform collectively in both educational and professional settings. Many of its members are youth musicians, making the program an important investment in the next generation of Iranian-Canadian artists and cultural continuity.
NONAVAZAN creates a space where musicians can continue developing their artistic identity, stay connected to their musical roots, and experience ensemble performance after immigrating to Canada.

Noonavazan is one of the largest active Iranian instrumental ensembles, bringing together youth and adults. Built on commitment and long-term weekly rehearsals under the direction of Amir Eslami, it creates a space where musicians from diverse backgrounds come together to give their best, express themselves through their instruments, and perform for their community.
Special thanks to Hamed Afshari for his presence, mentorship, and support throughout this concert.

Throughout 2025, we collaborated with our senior group and the Ukrainian choir through rehearsals, training, and shared performances.
Bringing people together across cultures, generations, and communities, we performed for diverse audiences — from community spaces to multicultural festivals — creating moments of connection through music.
Working side by side, learning from one another, and sharing different cultural voices became the essence of this project. Performing for communities, families, and friends, we experienced how collaboration can build understanding, respect, and unity.
This is what The Sound of Maple Leaves represents — a shared voice shaped by many cultures, growing together in one place.
