🗓️ I can't believe we're already halfway through January. This month has been a whirlwind, and while I'm dreaming up my summer backpacking and camping plans, I figured I needed to share my photo dump from my New Year's winter camping trip with a few weeks ago!
⛺ We camped at Mew Lake, and this was actually my first time visiting Algonquin in the winter. It was absolutely stunning and hiked Spruce Bog before heading home, making it such a great reset to close out 2025.
❄️ This was my second time winter camping, and I was a LOT more comfortable this time around with some gear upgrades. We had an actual 4-season tent, and I got to put my new Captain Comfort sleeping pad and Echo Park - 7c bag from to the test.
🔥 I can honestly say I've never slept so comfortably and this sleeping pad is absolutely my new favourite. With two heaters going and all my base layers on, I actually woke up a few hours later because I was TOO warm and had to shed some clothing! I love how spacious the bag was and it cinches around the sleeping pad, so even with my tossing and turning I didn't get all twisted up in the bag.
Now that I've dialed in my gear, I think I need to get my own tent so I can continue to camp in winter!
