Στο Διεθνές Διαγωνιστικό Τμήμα Μυθοπλασίας, φιλοξενούμε το "Go Outside and Hug a Tree" της Irina Alexiu από τη Ρουμανία. Όταν μια ανερχόμενη μουσικός χάνει την έμπνευσή της μέσα στην υπερ-ανταγωνιστική hipster σκηνή, ξεκινά μια μαγική, ρεαλιστική περιπέτεια που την οδηγεί σε ένα αλλόκοτο δίλημμα: να ανακτήσει τη δημιουργικότητά της προσφέροντας μια θυσία.

In this year’s International Fiction Competition, we present "Go Outside and Hug a Tree" by Irina Alexiu. When a rising musician loses her spark in a hyper-competitive scene, she embarks on a magical-realist quest that leads her to a bizarre crossroads. This whimsical story explores the lengths one will go to reclaim their creative soul.
Directed by the talented Irina Alexiu, whose work has been showcased on NOWNESS, Dazed, and The Guardian, the film brings a unique surrealist touch to the screen. Combining her London-honed craft (Goldsmiths University) with a distinct Romanian perspective, Alexiu delivers a vibrant, genre-bending portrait of artistic struggle. "Go Outside and Hug a Tree" is a visually captivating reminder that sometimes, the path to inspiration requires the most unexpected sacrifices.
