Only in Valdosta.

What started with a weather delay turned into one of the most unforgettable graduation nights in Wildcat history. As families temporarily cleared the stands, a beautiful rainbow stretched over Bazemore-Hyder Stadium, almost like a reminder that something special was still ahead.

And was it EVER.

From the excitement of pre-graduation staging… to crossing the stage as official Valdosta High School alumni… to a fireworks finale lighting up the sky over TitleTown USA… the Class of 2026 experienced a night they’ll never forget.

For more than 130 years, generations of Wildcats have carried the pride, tradition, and spirit of Valdosta High School…and now that legacy belongs to the Class of 2026.

Though this chapter has ended, the memories, friendships, and Wildcat pride will last forever.

Once a Wildcat, ALWAYS a Wildcat. πŸ–€πŸ’›

✨ Honoring a Legacy of Service ✨

On Friday, May 15, 2026, Valdosta City Schools proudly celebrated the retirement of Ms. Angela Stokes after 21 years of faithful service to our district and community.
Throughout her journey with VCS, Ms. Stokes served in many roles β€” School Custodian, ISS Paraprofessional, Library Clerk, Migrant/ESOL Support Staff, District Coordinator for Family Engagement, and McKinney-Vento Liaison β€” but in every position, one thing remained the same: her unwavering heart for people.

Ms. Stokes has been a tireless advocate for students and families, always leading with compassion, grace, and a servant’s heart. Her impact reaches far beyond job titles and responsibilities. She has touched countless lives through her kindness, wisdom, and dedication to ensuring every Wildcat felt seen, supported, and cared for.

One of her many lasting contributions was helping create the very first Wildcat Clothing Closet β€” transforming empty rooms into a space filled with dignity, hope, and care for students, families, and staff in need. That vision reflects who Ms. Stokes has always been: someone who sees a need and works tirelessly to meet it.

Ms. Stokes, thank you for the love you poured into Valdosta City Schools. Your legacy will continue to live on through the lives you changed, the hearts you encouraged, and the example you set for us all.

Thank you for believing in our students, our families, and our community. πŸ’›

The halls that once welcomed them as little Wildcats echoed with applause, tears, hugs, and memories as the Class of 2026 returned for one final walk through the schools that helped shape them.

From tiny backpacks to graduation caps, this annual Senior Walk is more than a tradition β€” it’s a reminder of how far our students have come and the legacy they leave behind for the next generation. Our seniors inspired younger scholars to dream big, work hard, and always BelieVe in the V.

For many, it was a full-circle moment β€” reconnecting with the teachers who encouraged them, believed in them, and helped guide them every step of the way.
The good old days may have gone by fast, but the memories made in Valdosta City Schools will last forever. πŸ–€βœ¨
