This piece was completed after adding additional stitching following the exhibition.
Studs were also applied along the edges of the vintage fabric double knees.
It turned out to be a truly wonderful piece, and the client was very pleased.

その想いが日に日に大きくなり、抑えきれなくなって、ギャラリーgobanguraさんを予約したのは約一年前のことです。
もう引き返せないと覚悟を決めてからは、夢なのか現実なのか分からないような日々のなかで、それでも手だけは動かし続けていたことを覚えています。
ようやく気に入る作品が揃いはじめた頃には年を越していました。
慌ただしい中、多くの方に助けていただき迎えた個展初日、京都は桜が満開でした。暖簾のかかった板戸をくぐり、土間を抜け、飛び石の路地を進むと蔵があります。ひんやりした蔵の中に一歩足を踏み入れると、凛とした空気の中で天井が上へ上へと広がります。そこは日常とはかけ離れ、それでいてどこか懐かしい場所で、置かれた私の作品たちも静かに息づいているようでした。
お知らせを見つけてくださり、遠方からお越しくださった方、どうやったら渦を表現できるのか試行錯誤を重ねていた頃から支えてくれている友人たち、そして四十年ぶりに再会できた懐かしい方まで――
まるで本のページをめくるように、たくさんの皆様にお会いできたひとときは、言葉ではとても言い尽くせない、かけがえのない時間となりました。
美しいお花や、あたたかな差し入れも本当にありがとうございます。
今回の個展は、自分の中でひとつの区切りとして臨んだものでしたが、皆様との出会いに背中を押され、新たな一歩を踏み出す気持ちをいただきました。
これからも一針一針進んでいきたいと思います。

私はこれまで、刺し子の「渦巻き」に惹かれ、ひと針ひと針、自分のペースで自分だけの渦巻きを育ててきました。その道のりは静かで、ときに手探りの連続でしたが、刺し子があることで、支えられた人生だったとも思います。
そんな私にとって、「刺し子の可能性を広げたい」というサシコギャルズの想いは、自分の今までとはまた違う可能性を見せていただいた気がしました。

I have been given the opportunity to join Sashiko Gals.
I have always been drawn to the "swirls" of sashiko, and I have been creating my own unique spirals, stitch by stitch, at my own pace. The journey has been quiet, and at times I have been feeling my way, but I believe that sashiko has supported me in life.
For me, the desire of Sashiko Gals to "expand the possibilities of sashiko" has shown me a new possibility that I had never seen before.
I am truly happy and grateful to be able to resonate with the journey of the Sashiko Gals, and to have been welcomed as a member.
I will continue to create my own works, stitch by stitch, while being inspired by my new members.
