Mallory Harris was ready for relief after being diagnosed with Graves’ disease, which caused symptoms that were disrupting her daily life. When medication wasn’t moving fast enough, she met with our Samuel “Rhett” Long, M.D., and chose a thyroidectomy.
With 23-hour observation now available at our Ambulatory Surgery Center, Harris was able to recover with added overnight monitoring, without a traditional hospital stay. “It was very individualized care for the whole night, just checking in on me, making sure I had anything that I needed,” Harris shared. Her care team explained each step, answered her questions and made sure she was comfortable from check-in through recovery.
