Realizado em parceria com a Plataforma CIPÓ e a Plataforma Socioambiental do BRICS Policy Center (PUC-Rio), o encontro reuniu pesquisadores e organizações para debater caminhos que fortaleçam o financiamento climático em países de renda baixa e média.
Durante a atividade, foram discutidas propostas para a reforma da arquitetura financeira internacional, incluindo medidas relacionadas ao Fundo Monetário Internacional (FMI), aos Bancos Multilaterais de Desenvolvimento, à reestruturação de dívidas e ao fortalecimento da cooperação tributária internacional.
O debate também abordou o “Baku to Belém Roadmap to 1.3T”, iniciativa voltada à ampliação dos recursos destinados à ação climática global.

🌎📚 🇬🇧 On June 2nd, the Center for Advanced Studies (CEA/UFRRJ) hosted the training workshop "From Commitments to Implementation: Reforming the International Financial Architecture for Climate Action".
Held in partnership with Plataforma CIPÓ and the Socio-Environmental Platform of the BRICS Policy Center (PUC-Rio), the meeting brought together researchers and organizations to discuss ways to strengthen climate finance in low- and middle-income countries.
During the activity, proposals for reforming the international financial architecture were discussed, including measures related to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Multilateral Development Banks, debt restructuring, and the strengthening of international tax cooperation.
The debate also addressed the “Baku to Belém Roadmap to 1.3T”, an initiative aimed at expanding the resources dedicated to global climate action.
🌱 Dialogue between institutions and experts is essential to building solutions that make climate finance fairer, more accessible, and more efficient.

Marlucio explica que parte do problema está relacionado ao Rio ter dependência da indústria extrativa. “O petróleo não é o problema. O problema é o que fazemos com ele” destacou, complementando que é preciso fortalecer a indústria de transformação.
