Our Maternity Engagement Team is working hard with maternity units to improve the quality of care for those pregnant with multiples. We want all women to receive the right level of care for their pregnancy. We know that this will help save babies lives. After 2 years of the Maternity Engagement Project units saw a 23% reduction in neonatal admissions. The units saw an 18% reduction in neonatal deaths and a 7% reduction in stillbirths. We know there is still a lot to be done. On 12-13 March we are aiming to raise £50,000 in 36 hours to help save babies lives. We want to work with more hospitals and we want to make care for any woman pregnant with multiples safer. Please join us and help save babies lives (see link in stories and bio)
Thank you to for being our lead sponsors on this campaign.

It is normal for your vagina to feel drier as you age and transition through the menopause. With the decline in circulating oestrogen levels, vaginal pH also changes. This makes us more prone to infections and imbalances e.g. bacterial vaginosis.
Do not use feminine hygiene products – these aren’t necessary – just use water to clean the vulva and never use water or any products inside the vagina. Heavily perfumed or cosmetic products designed to ‘clean’ the vagina and vulva area often disrupt our natural pH and cause further symptoms. You’ll find all the lowdown on lubricants, which can assist with vaginal dryness, in Module 5 of our online Essentials course.
As always, if you are concerned with any symptoms you have; please make an appointment to see a healthcare professional.

Did you know the average menstruating person uses 11,000 disposable tampons in their lifetime? Most of these end up in landfill or oceans.
There are many eco-friendly products out there but of course we are going to recommend making your way to the amazing
Their naked tampons are:
🌱100% organic cotton
❌ Bleach, toxin & chemical free
🌎 Compostable
🚚 Delivered to your door when you need them
Their pads are
🌎 Fully compostable (including the wrapper and backing film)
✅ Made from 100% organic cotton
✅ Leak-proof
✅ Come in Regular and Super absorbency
✅ Better for your body & better for the planet
All of this means that when using a Riley pad, it will break down within 12 months while other mainstream supermarket pads that contain plastic and chemicals can take up to 500 years to breakdown!

Questions to ask yourself are:
• Have I had mental health problems, including depression or anxiety, before?
• Have I experienced depression or anxiety during pregnancy?
• Do I understand the symptoms of & difference between, baby blues, postnatal depression (PND), postnatal anxiety & birth trauma?
• How will I monitor my mood postnatally? Who is a good person to let me know if my mood seems low?
• What self-care activities do I enjoy? Is there a way to maintain these after my baby arrives?
• How comfortable will I feel about seeking help if I think I may have PND or another mental illness postnatally?
• How will I maximise sleep?
• Who else can I turn to for help?
There are many ways you can try to prevent dips in your mood. These are:
• Being aware of triggers ie lack of sleep.
• Ask your partner, friends & family to keep an eye on your mood. Inform them of your warning signs.
• Keep up with important activities ie seeing friends - even if it's a quick cuppa or them coming over to see you whilst baby naps.
• Take part in calming activities ie: reading, walking, listening to music or a warm bath.
• Self refer to talking therapies if needed.
• Do not feel pressured to be busy every weekend.
Don't forget most of all, it is ok to not be ok. Your body has just done the most amazing thing & you're still recovering whilst surviving on minimal sleep due to your adorable sleep thief!

We were all anticipating her return to music with her Super Bowl performance, but not only was it astounding, but we also got a pregnancy announcement thrown in too!
Now who will admit to trying out some of those dance moves in the kitchen? Or have you been brave enough to post it online?
With the lead up to the Super Bowl; we all forget she has a baby under a year old, was also preparing to sing the Oscar nominated song that she wrote - all whilst running her Billion Dollar business Fenty.
If she isn't the embodiment of proving that women can do everything that men can do and more... we don't know what is!

In pledging to make pelvic health accessible to every woman, everywhere, we at Umi must acknowledge the very real racial disparities influencing all important factors affecting women’s experience of, and the treatment for, pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD).
We have written a blog post, "Is race relevant to Pelvic Health? Of course it bloody well is", which you can access via the link in our bio.

This year's theme is Health For All and what better way to celebrate it, than to encourage people to be vocal about a woman's right to have access to menstrual products in safe and hygienic environments!
It is crazy that in times when we can be wondering where we will go on holiday in the summer, there are still thousands of women, girls and people putting their health and safety at risk as they live without access to the safe sanitary products they need.
