The freshman was named the Region 10 ABCA/Rawlings Pitcher of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and D3Baseball’s Rookie of the Year‼️‼️
Holguin put together a phenomenal freshman campaign, emerging as one of the conference’s most dominant arms and establishing himself as one of the top young pitchers in Division III baseball. In 13 appearances, including 9 starts, Holguin posted an outstanding 8-1 record while logging 60.1 innings and striking out 50 batters. He maintained a stellar 2.69 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP, consistently giving his team quality outings while allowing just 18 earned runs all season.
Among the highlights of his remarkable debut season was a no-hitter, as well as First Team All-Conference honors, the Conference Pitcher of the Year award, and the Conference Newcomer of the Year accolade. He was twice named Conference Pitcher of the Week, selected to the Team of the Week, and earned national recognition as the NCBWA Pitcher and Rookie of the Week.
