'Flux ID: Detect, Measure, Protect' by Haofei Niu from MSc Creative Robotics is a low-cost, human-centred sensing system designed to help communities uncover hidden pollution in their local waterways.

Winning in the Sustainable Future category at the CCI Winter Festival 2025, this project features modular components like a capacitive sensor, a turbine flow meter, and a compact processing unit, the system transforms complex monitoring tasks into an accessible, plug-and-play setup that citizen scientists can deploy with confidence.

'Flux ID' represents not just a technical solution to pollution but a social tool as well; bridging the gap between citizens and environmental governance, supporting a more transparent, empowered, and ecologically responsible future.

Introducing 'Bent Ebjad' by Munirah AlShami – an installation that reinterprets Sadu weaving, native to the Arabian peninsula, as well as the main wall within the architecture of an Arabian tent, the “Ebjad”.

Blending extensive research of the art form, understanding technology as a form of craft and an exploration of different technological mediums, 'Bent Ebjad' weaves these older expressions of Arabian heritage with newer art forms such as music and dance.

This is 'Embodied Magnetism' – an interactive installation by from MSc Creative Robotics that combines robotic technology with contemporary dance performance. The work is built around a central question: How does a dancer improvise when magnetic force acts on the body in real time?

Open from today, Play Nice by transforms G31 at Somerset House into an immersive, interactive world. Drawing on her childhood memories as an immigrant in early-2000s Moscow, the work unfolds across three audience-activated states.

The first evokes a winter morning in a Moscow apartment, with a bunk-bed draped in a touch-responsive textile that doubles as a board game and activates a TV. The second transforms the room when a visitor sits on a school chair, turning the bunk-bed into a playground frame and revealing AI-altered portraits. The third places participants in a spotlighted stage, guided by an autocue of Kadyri’s inner monologue and childhood memories.

Through these interactions, Play Nice immerses you in a playful, shifting world, one that sparks curiosity, empathy, and reflection. Come experience it for yourself before it closes on 15 March 2026 - 🔗in bio for more!

Introducing Lukmou Wanichnatee and Heather Bell – a CCI alumni duo who recently strutted their stuff at ’s Festival of Creative Computing. Their work explores the connection between digital waste and human memory.

“Digital waste can be defined as the accumulation of obsolete data that exists in digital infrastructures,” Heather and Lukmou explain.

“We drew parallels with how our human memory holds on to sentimental belongings to make sense of what we store digitally.”

Taking the form of a VR installation, the project allowed viewers to explore a whimsical digital landscape overrun by animated objects that try to justify of their existence within this imagined corner of the metaverse.

“We collected real-life 3D scans uploaded by people to Polycam, and used Deepseek to generate on-demand poems on each object interaction. Meaning that each time an object is spoken to, its story changes – suggesting a nonsensical need to hold onto redundant data.”

After Lukmou saw the open call for the festival, she suggested it to Heather as a great chance to share their work, and the message behind it.

“The festival was a chance to contribute back to Peckham’s digital art community and offered a learning opportunity for building intuitive experiences for the public.”

Receiving the acceptance email was a surreal moment – Lukmou was at work and Heather was on a hiking trip – and they screamed into their phones (with Heather screaming into the mountains). They both very much enjoyed the experience.

“It was really exciting to be involved in Peckham Digital, a festival we’ve been following for quite some time. It was a great opportunity to exhibit alongside some amazing artworks and share many interesting conversations with folks from the community. I loved seeing how people interacted with our piece and we learned a lot from the experience.”
