A juvenile White-tailed Eagle soared elegantly above the frigid-cold water, its eyes seemingly locked on us.
Honestly don't know how it's already been 11 months since we took a wildlife trip overseas. Hopefully we can visit more places soon despite our busy schedule! Soon it will be Chinese New Year once again, so hold on to your horses!

Happy New Year to all! 😍
Our highlights of 2025 were: spotting Ezo Red Foxes like this one for the very first time, seeing dozens of wild Steller's Sea Eagles and White-tailed Eagles, revisiting the place where we decided to be life partners forever with Red-Crowned Cranes surrounding us, once again photographing the elusive Long-tailed Tit, and also watching Japanese Macaques in the snow. And just like that, the entire year flew by without us visiting anywhere else overseas.
As most of you know, we dived headfirst into opening our TwoBehindTheLens Wildlife Photography "shop" with prints, postcards, mini art, and calendars. We didn't expect much from it as we were starting from scratch, but we are truly happy that we have about 130 of our works (combined in different forms) in people's places. Those were probably some of the most unforgettable months of our lives. Thank you to all who made that happen. ✨️
In 2026, we plan to continue with our wildlife photography, our small business thingy, and also make more wild memories in the process! Wishing everyone the best of things this year, and may we all achieve greater heights together!

Have you ever had the feeling where you would love to get a good picture to remember a moment forever, but you just can't get a clear view of the subject you are photographing? Let's get rid of that guilt. There is no right or wrong in this scenario — photography comes in many forms. One of the most important reasons why we love photography is because not only do you capture a photo, but you also freeze the memory within.
This was a huge barren tree we drove past one evening in snowy Hokkaido, and we couldn't stop our car to properly photograph the many, many Black-eared Kites, White-tailed Eagles, and Steller's Sea Eagles that lined the branches. There were dozens of them — it was as if we had entered their territory, as we felt their sharp eyes glaring at us. Some flew off as our car approached, but the others remained perched, watching.
We had never seen a scene like that in our lives, and even though we didn't get good pictures with the birds in full view, these photos reminded us of that very moment we went "Wow".

By the way, two more weeks till 2026? That's crazy. We felt like we did everything and also nothing at the same time. Always wondered how it felt to achieve a huge milestone, and we finally did it. Since April, we have been creating wildlife postcards, prints, art, and most recently, calendars. Calendars are one of the most difficult products to sell in huge numbers because not everyone uses them, and not to mention the shipping cost for some countries? But we had a minimum quantity we had to print, hence we do have to help them find homes. We even made them so that the photos could also be displayed as mini prints in people's spaces. Can't just have them sitting there in the dust, can we?
It's our biggest project so far that we decided to try to go all out at a bigger scale. Sometimes, things do work out, but not to your expectations, and that is okay. At least the first step was made. If you never dared to cross that bridge, for the rest of eternity, you will never know what's on the other side.
To bigger things ahead in 2026, and we hope that you will continue to be part of this wild journey! ✨️

✨️ In the midst of working our full-time jobs, and playing Ghost of Yotei and Pokémon Legends Z-A the moment we get home, we are also getting ready some calendar orders! Don't know how, but this year just flew by, from the proof that we are still sharing photos from our trip about 7 months ago now. Here's another portrait of a Steller's Sea Eagle that we found.
Oh, and if you have been following along in our journey, you would know that many things have happened.
In April, we had an idea that just randomly came to mind, and we decided to act on it. In May, we started getting our wildlife prints out there, enabling people to actually hold our photographic works in their hands. It was a success, and we couldn't be more thankful for all the love and support. And then in June, we opened an official shop on Etsy to reach people all around the world. In the same month, we created our own postcards and got into postcrossing and exchanging postcards with people around the world because, as we all know, the world has become a weird place, and everyone is starting to search for a little kindness and wholesomeness in every day. We managed to get more than 100 of our postcards out there to about 30 different countries.
In July, we worked hard at getting our Etsy shop to reach more people while also preparing some print and postcard orders. We even included some art pieces in every order to add more sentimental value. It was humbling knowing that we were getting our message about wildlife awareness out there. And then, in August, another idea of curating a calendar for 2026 — onwards and upwards, right? And now here we are, halfway through September, waiting for our calendars to be printed.
We have no idea how to reach more people or make our voices echo any louder, but nothing is stopping us from trying. Whatever happens down the road, we are happy that we took that step forward. After all, all this is for the love of wildlife.
