Our chapter was grateful to participate and be in community at the Rise and Remember Festival at George Floyd Square. George Floyd was murdered six years ago at 38th and Chicago. This sent reverberations around the world and sparked a global uprising. Sadly, this is one of the many murders committed by MPD. TCDSA in partnership with our endorsed electeds will continue to hold MPD accountable for its police brutality.
Minneapolis deserves a public safety system that reins in violent and racist cops, not coverups by Mayor Frey. Frey once again put political optics over any meaningful accountability at MPD in his attempt to re-appoint Brian O'Hara only 20 days ago. Just days after the sixth anniversary of the murder of George Floyd by MPD, this is a continuation of a consistent pattern -- MPD cannot be reformed.

We keep us safe.

If you're not Safe Homes Saint Paul signature collection-mogging you're renter repair-nerfing tbh

When things break, renters have no real power to get them fixed. That's why Safe Homes Saint Paul is working to win a Right to Repair ballot measure. When landlords fail to fix rental property in a timely manner, tenants would be able to deduct repair costs from rent—up to $500 or 50% of rent, whichever is greater.

Join us for signature collection to get our ordinance on the ballot this fall, no experience necessary! We’ll train you, pair you up, and send you out with everything you need.

Public schools on the verge of closing. HCMC forced to beg the Legislature for funding to keep it's doors open. Thousands of our neighbors pushed to the brink of eviction by ICE. Minneapolis could do so much with $38 million to improve all our lives — yet Mayor Jacob Frey wants a Cop City for MPD. Getting back to the basics should mean a Minneapolis we all can afford, not a gun range for MPD.
