After stripping it to bare wood, I found a couple of the reveals had been compromised over the years. They’d been sanded, filled, and reshaped so many times that their original profile was gone.
The only proper solution was to remove the trim pieces, make a mold from an undamaged section, cast new replacements in resin, and reinstall them. It set me back a few days, but details like that aren’t optional if the goal is to restore the door correctly.
