During my exhibition in Paris, I am also hosting Kintsugi workshops.

Beyond exhibiting my work, having the opportunity to talk about Kintsugi while creating together is a truly special experience for me.

Every question I receive inspires me to share not only the beauty of urushi lacquer, but also the rich culture and history of Japan that lie behind this tradition.

I am grateful for the new connections that Kintsugi continues to create each day.

A record of the first day of my exhibition in Paris. ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท
Paris is in vacation season.
Even so, the cafรฉs are full of people, and the excitement of the World Cup can be felt throughout the city.
Seeing my kintsugi pieces on display and the introduction videoโ€”which I revised over and over againโ€”playing at the venue, I found myself thinking,
โ€œEven the time that felt like a detour wasnโ€™t wasted.โ€
This is only the beginning.
Iโ€™m excited to see what kinds of encounters and connections await in the days ahead.

Daylight saving time feels so strange.

It was already 7:00 p.m., but the city was still as bright as if it were the middle of the day.

It reminded me of being a child. When the days were longer, I always felt as if I had been given extra time, and I would stay up a little later than usual, excited to make the most of it.
That same little sense of wonder came back to me as I watched the evening light in Paris.

I arrived safely in Paris.
After getting some sleep, itโ€™s now 6:00 a.m.
The city is still quiet, and you can feel a new day slowly beginning.
Today, I join the exhibition at Espace Japon, where I will be exhibiting my Kintsugi works.
I hope to share all the preparation, dedication, and passion that have led to this moment.
Iโ€™m excited to see what kind of encounters await me.
I canโ€™t wait to begin.

Today I spent the whole day preparing for my Paris exhibition โ€” translating videos, leaflets, signs, artwork captions, and almost everything else into French.
I listened to French from morning until night, and for a moment I thought,
โ€œMaybe I can understand a little more now?โ€
โ€ฆbut of course, it was not that easy.
French sounds so beautiful, almost like music, but the pronunciation feels like a completely different world to me.Still, little by little, one step at a time.
I will leave for Paris on June 29.
I am continuing the final preparations, hoping to share the beauty of kintsugi not only through my works, but also through words.
I will be posting more about the Paris exhibition and my time there.
I would be happy if you followed along and shared in the encounters and discoveries that await.
