when i put this gown on for the first time in the dressing room before going on stage, i cried. being surrounded by my season seven sisters wearing my heritage boldly, i was so proud. and i’d never felt more beautiful in my 32 years.
my drag sister made this gorgeous gown for me out of fabrics we searched HIGH and LOW for. i wanted to represent the essence of classic thai elegance as the final form of chai t grande on the runway.
and i shot this at the buddhapadipa temple in wimbledon, where my family and i spent so many special occasions during my childhood. so it meant a lot to me to be able to shoot this look on the steps where i used play catch and take family
photos. the monks even wanted to take selfies with me during the shoot and thanked me for representing thailand. 🥹
to my sisters, thank you from the bottom of
my heart for voting me as your season seven miss congeniality, it means everything and more. the essence of being congenial is really how i try and live my life as i spent so many years of it being the recipient of less than lovely treatment from the outside world, so i never want to make someone else feel that way.
