Okay. It’s time to tell the whole story. 😂
A couple of months ago I received an email telling me I’d won an award. Sworn to secrecy, so I sat with it quietly, just me and my little secret.
Except I apparently misread my own winning email. 🤪
I was convinced I’d won the Readers’ Choice award. The one voted on by friends and colleagues and people who’ve followed this work. So I showed up to the awards night with feeling like I already knew how the night ended.
Then they called my name for the Luxe RED Award for Jewelbox Spaces — Pacific Northwest Region.
Debbie looked at me.
I looked at her.
And she goes: “You’re such a dumbass.”
She’s not wrong. This is exactly the kind of thing I do. I am, after all, the person who once booked flights to the wrong city. So misreading my own award email? Completely on brand.
But here’s the thing about the Luxe RED regional awards, it’s not voted on by readers. It’s voted on by 6 incredibly accomplished industry peers. People with deeply discerning eyes and zero obligation to be nice about it.
Jewelbox spaces are my whole design language. The rooms where constraint is the concept, where small means every single decision has to matter. To have that work recognized by that room?
I’m still not over it. And I don’t think I want to be.
Thank you. For all of it.
I know you want to know who the judges were…. I’ll put the link in liink 👀

And it was so great to share this with friends and colleagues who also won!!
Thank you & for the styling and amazing photos
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
At Salone 2026, Seattle-based principal Tristan Gary and New York-based principal Sarah Robertson didn’t just stop by the booth - they stayed, played, and made it theirs. Swapping trims, refining details, and reimagining the look in real time, they explored just how effortless customization can be. A masterclass in making it your own, you could say.

And it didn’t take long before the brand’s President, and Creative Director,, joined in - because when the details are this easy to change, it’s hard not to have a little fun with it.
Rich tones, layered details, and a layout that feels intentional without being overdone. Our Oslo shelving unit ties it all together while keeping the space open and functional.

What would you style on these shelves?

There are chapters in life that change you quietly, and then there are the ones that ask everything of you.

The past few years stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. Personally, professionally, and as a mother.
What I thought I was building changed. What I thought I knew shifted. And I found myself starting again, but this time, on my own.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
*When everything is stripped back, what remains is what matters most.
*My work has always been rooted in listening, but now, it’s deeper. More intuitive. More personal. I understand what it means to rebuild, to create something that feels safe, grounding,
and entirely your own.
*I’m stepping into this next chapter with clarity and confidence, not just as a designer, but as an advocate, a partner, and a trusted guide for my clients.

This version of the business is different. Stronger. More refined. More intentional. And the homes we’re creating reflect that.

Homes with story. Crafted, never copied. Built for a life fully lived.

If you’ve been here for a while, thank you. If you’re new, welcome. This is just the beginning!

There isn’t just one version of me, and there isn’t just one way I design. Every part of my story shapes the homes I create, and makes TGD what it is today. Tell me, what’s been shaping you lately?

Just add it in. You won’t regret it. As someone recently said… “You mean like the water bottle filler you see at the airport?” Yes, but prettier. ♥️
#AreWeThereYet
Do you have a space in your home where you feel invited to do nothing? Have you carved out a nook where your brain allows you to slow down?
I think it’s not a luxury to do this for yourself, but a necessity ♥️
#AreWeThereYet library was my “sit and watch the ferry boats” moment. Someone else might feel compelled to work there…. ☺️
Which I can completely get behind since I have an office but choose to work at my table and see this view too.
Where is your quiet spot in your home?
Sometimes the most meaningful spaces in a home are the ones that feel a little hidden…. a speakeasy behind a cabinet door, a tucked away library, a secret closet that feels like your own private retreat.

These aren’t just “bonus rooms” They’re moments of delight. They create surprise, personality, and a sense that the home was designed for you, not just around you.

Because great design isn’t only about function, it’s about discovery, identity, and having a place that feels like a retreat.

Where would your hidden gem be?

As we enter a new season (emotionally and literally… I’m trying 😅), I’ve been reflecting on what this past year held.
When asked about our years wins, it made me pause — because 2025 began with one of the biggest surprises of my career… my first magazine cover. ♥️

To say I’m grateful would be an understatement.
Thank you and for believing in this project and giving it such a beautiful platform — and for placing it alongside my dear friend.

I remember finishing design school with a very simple goal: one day, a magazine cover.
And like most goals… once you get there, they evolve, expand, deepen.
We grow.
We dream bigger.
And we keep going. ♥️

I added a couple before pics for fun!
