music:
In true form my Dear Dad gave it his all. His spirit was willing, but his body had enough.
85 rotations around the sun and 55 of those married to my mom. He was a good guy, easy to talk to, told great stories, and most of all, his integrity and loyalty guided him.
He passed away quietly at home. I miss him very much, but grateful to live close, and able to spend a lot of time together.
Tony London is survived by his wife Sharlene his children Stacie and Larry, his daughter-in-law Christina, his very loyal pup Lady, and Stacie’s pup Sunny.
A Memorial will be held on Sunday, June 1.
He loved the song ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ and listened to it together often.

Last night had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Museum Opening of
‘Jeffrey Gibson: the space in which to place me’
at The Broad.
“A special exhibition of the artist’s multidimensional work, adapted from its original presentation at the U.S. Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024, where he was the first Indigenous artist to represent the United States with a solo exhibition.”
Originally Curated by Adriano Pedrosa, whose
curatorial vision centered on the theme of "foreigners," and explored ideas of displacement, migration, and the complexities of belonging.
The opening festivities included an Indigenous Jingle Dance performance, singing, and blessing. Starting as educational and presentational, transformed into participatory and experiential. Bringing a Powwow into the museum, the feeling of the power of unity and connection filled the austere museum lobby.
After the performance we returned to the gallery to spend more time with the colorful and intricately crafted and conceived work. The exhibition concludes with the commanding video “She Never Dances Alone,” providing a full circle experience. The video, like the exhibition is visually mesmerizing. While communicating layers of complex stories and histories, Gibson creates multiple entrances that are lovingly inviting, accessible, and educational.
The fantastic simultaneous experience of museum openings: there were inspired people and fashion throughout! All the while, the DJ created a celebratory atmosphere. (Crowded joyful galleries caused some pics to be skewed.) — on view through October 13.
Fantastic night in LA— thank you Christina & Stuart for including me full of love, maybe it was the almost full moon 🌝💓xo
My Dear Dad!
Tony is doing alright!
After a stroke, back surgery, and all the things life throws…..
Is now an ex-smoker, ex-boozer, does water therapy with me once a week, and is proof that it’s never too late to heal!
So please help me wish my Dad —Tony— a Happy 85th Birthday! xo

An art exhibition exploring dualities through visual art, perfume and music, “Plateaus: Art That Resonates” is a multidisciplinary journey of art and craft, death and life, grief and love, and activity and stillness. This experience of bonded contrasts, sensorially reminds us that polarities are intrinsic and intertwined partners.

THE GEFFEN CONTEMPORARY, MOCA LOS ANGELES
Shared to celebrate the life and impact of
Christopher Lee Burden (April 11, 1946 – May 10, 2015), an American artist working in performance, sculpture and installation art. Burden became known in the 1970s for his performance art works, including ‘Shoot’ (1971), where he arranged for a friend to shoot him in the arm with a small-caliber rifle. A prolific artist, Burden created many well-known installations, public artworks and sculptures like ‘Big Wheel’ at MOCA and ‘Urban Lights’ at LACMA, before his death on May 10th in 2015.
In 2009, as MOCA’s Exhibition Designer, had the extreme good fortune to restore and operate the ‘Big Wheel’ for ‘Collection: MOCA’s First 30 Years,’ Curated by Paul Schimmel. With insights provided by Chris, was able to make improvements so the kinetic sculpture functioned and operated more efficiently and impact-fully, as Chris had always intended. Was also first woman to operate the performance-based artwork that includes a 3-ton cast iron flywheel from an 1800s coal mine and a 1968 Benelli 250cc; sold in the US through the Montgomery Ward department store chain as the 'Riverside'.
