Unlike my attempts at pottery, where my creation was nothing like the vision, after a blissful hour of potion making I had in my hand a vial of perfume that smelled like an Italian summer holiday. Couldn’t recommend this experience highly enough. Such a relaxing morning, in excellent company, lovely patisserie, coffee and a gorgeous setting. Aspen florals is inside the and it may be my new favourite coffeeshop
Also, who even am I, posting about something the same day it happened, even managed a cheeky voice over, although I might never recover from the embarrassment of hearing my own voice

Feeling incredibly grateful for friends and family who have provided countless lifts to hospital, snacks, piles of books and just checking in. Hoping I’ll have a bit more energy after this block of treatment to get back to some local adventures, seeing friends in person again and maybe making more photos but it’s going to be many more months before our family’s life returns to anything like it was before, and I get to be me rather than another patient. Meanwhile you’ll find me under a pile of cats and books.
By the way, everyone’s experience of cancer or any illness and disability is different, but personally I’d rather not be told I’m brave or fighting a battle to be won or lost. I have no choice in this at all, other than to follow the treatment offered to me, and hope that it all works out ok. Thanks

It’s been a really busy week, but I wanted to say cheers to all of you who have made such kind comments about the house, and our rebuilding and decorating endeavours, and of course the final of. Its been a bit overwhelming but I’m slowly replying to everyone and really appreciate all your messages.

In other news this week, my baby somehow turned 11 and is well on his way to being taller than me (possibly not actually that much of an achievement), also I managed to get the entire house tidy at the same time for a photoshoot, but typically the only pictures I took were of lounging in each room after it was finished. Alas, everything is now looking very lived-in again and none of us can find the stuff I crammed into cupboards. Hoping for a quiet weekend to recuperate, how about you?
