I always try to search out a table full of local banchan and namul when I’m traveling around Korea. Food is somehow sooo much more satisfying and delicious outside of Seoul.
Some of my fave meals around Korea to find yourself:
🔹 Magoksa Seoul Sikdang near Gongju
🔹 Bori Gotgan in Danyang
🔹 Gyeonggi Sikdang near Tongdosa Temple
🔹 Dongmun Jip in Namhansanseong
🔹 Jangwon Marinated Blue Crab in Gunsan
What do you miss eating most in Korea?

Half the fun is finding it! Because it’s hidden away down a narrow alley that’s really only wide enough for a single person to pass through at a time.
It carries the legacy of Heo Jun, a royal physician, who’s often considered one of the founding members of Korean traditional medicine.

❄️ Why? Because January is actually the month with the snowiest, iciest winter events and festivals.
🧊 From ice fishing to sledding to snow sculpture festivals, January (and to some extent February) are the months where it’s consistently cold enough to have them.
🥶 Yes, you’ll feel like you’re dying from the icy blades of wind ripping across your cheeks, but it’s actually worth it.
🙋🏻♀️ Who’s defying the arctic temps to see snow in Korea this winter?

I recently started taking All in One Women Plus - a liquid PDRN product from Re4Day. It’s delicious and super easy to take. Just one packet per day and you’re done.
Why you’ll love it too:
- packed with 46 essential nutrients to support women’s vitality, radiance, and glow from within
- includes low molecular fish collagen, hyaluronic acid, a red phyto formula, and of course PDRN
- easy to pack and consume anywhere you go
- used and recommended by Korean celebrities like NCT Doyoung and Han Chae-ah
- No.1 in customer satisfaction for 4 straight years
- it’s actually yummy - tastes like grapes!
This is a professional pharmacy level product, so it’s only available at Korean pharmacies or at Re4day stores. I went to the Myeongdong location, but there’s one in Anguk too.

Hi, I’m Shelley - follow for more from the streets of Seoul!

❄️ January is absolutely the best month to experience snow and winter activities in Seoul and all around Korea, but the reality is that your best chances are outside of the capital city.
🧊 To REALLY experience winter in Korea, go to Gangwon-do for skiing, ice fishing, and huge snow festivals, or ride an adorable duck sled on top of a frozen lake in Pocheon.
😎 Here’s a quick guide to January in Korea to help you plan your trip.
☃️ WEATHER
- it’s incredibly dry and bitterly cold
- feels much colder than posted temperatures
- strong, icy Siberian winds can drop the temperature an extra 10 degrees
- mixed rain and snowfall in Seoul (but not that often - so run outside asap if it starts snowing)
🧣WHAT TO WEAR AND PACK FOR JANUARY
- layers, layers, layers for extreme temperature differences from outdoor to indoor environments
- comfortable sneakers for thousands of steps and stairs, warm boots, water resistant, with good grip footwear is better
- winter wear: padding coat, gloves, hats, earmuffs, scarves
- those from tropical countries will feel extra-cold
- prepare with ✔️hot packs ✔️thermals ✔️winter gear ✔️ chapstick
🇰🇷WHAT TO DO IN JANUARY
- last chance to enjoy the Seoul Lantern Festival, Seoul Light Gwanghwamun and DDP
- best month for winter sports like ice skating, snow sledding, and skiing
- ice fishing and snow festivals in Gangwon-do and Pocheon
- pick strawberries in a greenhouse or recharge in a jjimjilbang for some warmth in winter
😍 LOCAL TIP
Daiso is one of best places to stock up on affordable winter gear. Hot packs are a lifesaver in winter. Grab the ones that stick to your clothes (NOT directly on skin!!!) for on-the-go, extra warmth.
👉 Comment JANUARY to get a full guide to these winter events sent directly to you.
